Kinda interesting considering many other brands (Kinera, TRN, KBear, SeeAudio) are spending quite the effort trying to have cheaper pseudo planar alternative and have to engineer a way to deal with its drawback while maintaining good price...

and here we have KZ who simply goes, "here's a $39 true planar".

Curious that TRN asks less than $30 for SPD (plus a BA!). What is shady is promoting SPD as regular planar when it has dynamic voice coils. Luckly IEM disassembling is common nowadays. Those lies dont last long

Lifelike: Ex-Camera/Copier company engineer, starting his own project. Looks like he knows what he is dealing with.

Starry Audio: HK based startup, no details yet except an IEM called Yoru (Night in Japanese). I’m following this owner’s private twitter Stanley TAI, and know he just got on the flight from HK to Japan. Hope Starry to be fair in asking price. (looking at you HK-based Aroma Audio)

He is flying overseas in achieving his dream right now.

Dammit, I swore I wouldn't buy a HBB affiliated product but a real planar (and seemingly well-tuned) IEM for less than £30 delivered was too tempting.

Hm I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that but i think they have thick note weight and good transparent upper mid, maybe not well extension on both end but sound quite airy (open) IMO. I think try them out yourself would be better than explaining here
Edit: cheaper options would be NRA (modded), CRA (mod), and ZEX pro

Bro, if soundstage is your main criteria, are you open to trying out earbuds? They beat most IEMs in soundstage for sure, and are closer to open backed headphones than IEMs in this regard. Most earbuds may have a sub-bass roll off, but there are some that have specially designed acoustic chambers that preserve the sub-bass.

Indeed, iems are to my liking because of the isolation however i am not averse to earbuds and did try a few from Ali. Riku and TGX are making some awesome buds i hear. i shall look into that, Thank you.

For note weight and a warmer signature Audiosense AQ4 is worth a serious look. The AliExpress Summer sale is only about 2 months away and AQ4 was half price 11/11 and most of the time through to spring sales.

Yeah i think they're a pretty safe bet. I've been wanting to try them since the Pro was well received, so a little retune to Hbb's specs should be a winner and that coupon price was too hard to pass up.
