Oh yeah. Sorry. I have the Ultrasone Pro 900s. I have compared them to Pioneer DJ2000, ATH M50 and 700 MKII, Sennheiser 439, and Beyerdynamic 770s. I'd rank them as follows:
1. Pro 900
2. ATH M50
3. DT770
4. ATH Pro 700
5. Pioneer 2000
6. Sennheiser HD 439
It's probably fitting that I join this thread. I'm currently auditioning about six pairs of headphones and now that I've heard the Ultrasones I think my search may be over.

Update on my Signature Pro experiments... I did multiple tests over a huge range of frequencies. Since they were obviously less scientific than something like Tyll's graphs, I repeated the same test multiple times on each ear.
Final decision: even with running the test several times, there were too many inconsistencies for me to definitely say there's a balance issue. I shifted the headphones a bit between each set of tests (so one location for both ears, flip it over and repeat, etc), and even tiny shifts could result in a reading differing by several decibels in the higher ranges. Frequencies under 2000 or so were all consistent from test to test and generally within half a decibel between the ears. The discrepancies above that would seem to illustrate how drastic and important headphone placement is due to S-Logic technology. Experimenting with placing the microphone directly into the cup on higher notes, I discovered as much as a 10 dB (A) difference depending on where I placed it.
So I think it's probably much ado about nothing, and I probably only noticed the left being so strong because the headphones revealed that those particular songs were BALANCED to the left. Either way, it's put my mind at ease.

Do you have a recommendation? (Trying not to spend too much more on Audio right now after the Aune and the SP's...)

Meier Audio Corda Jazz for 385 USD or a used older portable from this company, the new ones do no longer come with this feature.
BTw did you ever try Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band from The Beatles. Man that is horrible balanced!

I'm not a fan of crossfeed.

With one 550 pad and one 750 pad they sound like Ed8s...
Just kidding of course...Sorry, did not listen to the 550 pads on the 750s. Was rushing out of the house and wanted to quickly snap a pic to help ya out...
The pleather pads sit tighter around your head though, creating a bit better seal (of course they get hotter). Don't know if that would help your cause in reference to more isolation.
Cheers!
Nice! How does the sound change, if you have tried? I'm mainly looking into ways to take the 750 out, they still leak a bit too much sound.

Musical Fidelity V-CAN-II is a nice amplifier; it doesn't bring a DtoA to the table though. And remember that you will not fundamentally change a headphone with "amping" (no matter how much money you throw at it).

I was looking at that. Do you have experience with this combo with the pro 900? I emailed them and was told that they are neutral leaning to bright and they had no experience with ultrasone products so couldn't comment on the synergy.

What is your source that you will be plugging the amp into?
