Simgot EW100P and EA500 was given to me for free by Simgot, the only thing they wanted me to do is share with them what I think about their tuning and performance.

I do understand how Simgot have gotten praise, especially with EA500. Since the first impression is good I don't mind write a mini comparison to other similarly priced IEMs I have. Still unsure on what to use maybe EA500 x VE SiE x Tipsy Ttromso x FIIO FD11 and for EW100P x Truthear HOLA x TinHifi C2 x Bl03. But not sure yet, going to use them for a week and get some good burn in and usage on them first.

Should do it before I get the ISN NEO 5 and AüR Aurora, as I know they will take up my time after arrival

Do you have Zero Red yet? I wonder how that would fair against the EA500

No, I was not a fan of the original due to tuning and comfort. So I did not jump on the bandwagon this time, still interested in trying Red.

I don't think AS has let me down sonically with his recc's (that's in the positive ledger), but the fit has been a strike on more than one occasion. I don't know if his ears are freak show large, or if he's just less tolerant of fit, but three different recc's of his ended up being uncomfortable af. Negative ledger. But sonically, when AS says something sounds good, it usually sounds good.

Well, if we talk about comfort, B3 are not comfortable to wear (nor are B2).
Better P5, and many others (almost all I would say).

But over the months I think my ear canal has widened, and therefore I find them less uncomfortable than before.

If I were to rank IEMs for convenience, it would be very different from the ranking of musical preferences I have in mind.

Be that as it may, discomfort aside, I have noticed that when the IEM excites you in sound (depending on your taste of the moment),
you can hardly avoid it (unless it is really terrible to wear).

So I would say that sound emotion always wins.

However, it must be said that I wear the IEMs for a couple of hours a day, and I change them at least 2-3 in a day.

What is certain is that if I had to wear them for 10 hours a day, continuously, the 'comfort' aspect would probably have another weight.

Good question.
I have both, and I'm a fan of the original ZERO.

For me the answer is EA500 without ifs and buts.

While I'm (basically) a bass head, and the REDs should probably be more bass headphone, while the EA500s are brilliant, their sound is thrilling and gorgeous.

Any impressions on the K5 ? Can you please tell us how it compares to the SR5?

Edit: well, good or not, at $107 at Aliexpress I couldn't resist 😅 Just ordered one ! And shout out to EPZ customer service on the Aliexpress store, they answered to my message right away and the attendant was super nice 👏
Just received !

(+ NiceHCK RubyCat cable)

First impressions is that it sounds really nice for $107 (which was what I payed) tbh. Very nice soundstage and I found the bass impactful enough

Contemplating is I want to snag another set using the $50 off for the Linsoul event. Needs some recommendations for things that would be a step up from what I have right now.

Realistically I was looking at the Orchestra Lite to try an all BA set, or the Xenns Tea 2 or the Yanyin Canon 2, and maybe one of the "open-back" Raptgo sets to see what that's like. Anything else in that price range to consider, I might just take a pass since I don't think I'd be interested in stepping up to the $500 range. And I think the Heyday is pretty competent for the price already.

I'd be interested in something with a different configuration, or a massively different tuning than the stuff I have listed below. (I'm a musical omnivore so there's really no one thing I need a piece to be good at, just to branch out a little from what I've heard so far)

Right,

I have Blessing 2, Blessing 2 Dusk, and Blessing 3, B3 is successor of B2 from the way Moondrop tunes it.

B2 Dusk is tuned to fit modern pop music, with sub-bass heavy rhythm section emphasis, and 3khz peak to highlight female vocals details, a modern and crisp way of coloration.

Visual example of way of sound presentation:

Pay attention to resolutions, image focus, color naturalness, and contrasts.

I actually had to look twice. Nice one.

I spent time last night with the SR5, after the SR5 discussion. I spent time with it on the A306 and also on my "new" Sony NW-WM1A, and though it's melodic, technically solid, and I still love the bass, the lack of treble and my aching ears just couldn't settle in. My ears are cavernous, and still the size of that shell left my ears just thumping. I've decided for now to pull all three of those IEM's from the market, but I don't see much potential in unloading the SR5 (unless someone is interested?? DM me lol).
Wow a WM1A, congratulations!

Thanks, easiest now since they are new. This must be one of the biggest fingerprint and scratch magnets out there.

Wow a WM1A, congratulations!
I got it for $400 used!! When I got it, I actually were reminded of you, because I believe you own one too? It's a kilobuck DAP, it's just a bit older, but who cares? Right? If it sounds great in 2017, it still sounds great in 2023! I sold a couple IEM's recently, and didn't double dip in IEM's, so I had the money to get this without having to go into my savings for much.
