Fourth reviewer who has said positive things about the Piccolo. Seems like they are the real deal at $35.00?
The Piccolo (from memory) sounds almost like the SIMGOT EA500, it really does! So just try to imagine a perfect fitting EA500, except slightly less vibrancy and technicalities. Only the kicker is a smoother top end without those filters. So it naturally gets there to a better place. Now for me I never want to tarnish the reputation of the SIMGOT EA500, as it is/was one the the best under $100 put out so far this year, but also the Triptowin Piccolo is one of the best to do what it does for $35. And the crazy, crazy part is for $35 the Piccolo actually scales up to show both better cables and sources, files and offers a level of transparency that is enlightening. I mean you would almost need this transparency to be maintained for what sound the Piccolo does, and it’s there........IMO

It is a sin to not try the Piccolo with better cables, just to kinda see where you can go? The Piccolo won out of the latest SIMGOT EW100P and beat-out the BLON X HBB Z300, being more my sound. Still it’s very close to what the BLON does, but in an opposite way, as the Piccolo has better tighter bass, more sculpted low end and becomes more textured as a result. There is as well as more forward mids and a polite yet slightly vibrant treble character too. The Piccolo has it all, it really does!

This could very well be old news at this point but here's something I found searching for the Quartet:

I think I get the p5 and play around with eq to test different sound signatures. And then later this year / next year deciding what to buy and most of what definitely not to buy. Don't got trained ears either so P8's improvements over the P5 might be a bit wasted on my at the moment. And the since I got the Final A5000 with the wide sound stage a more intimate iem for stuff like watching vtubers xD might be nice. Often those karaoke streams are not encoded that good.

Anyways my indecisiveness is killing me again xD

btw checked out amazon germany, no AFUL products (P5)
Ohh that's lame. Aful 5 is a strong product that fits well.

What’s the knock on the BAX? I know it’s big and kinda ugly looking but do they sound bad?
I have not seen much of the positive opinion on BAX other than enthusiastic promotions of Red'sn free samples.
So he would be the best person to 'come out" :) and tell more about it.
I can't imagine anyone buying TRN IEMs at $250+ given their quality control.

I am guilty of getting X7 (waste of money even at $30, and the claims that X7 can be improved by "burning", that I tried diligently, made me to totally cross other "established promoter" of my "reliable/trusted list".

Then BA15 at below $100 worked for me quite nicely as a curiousity IEM in my all-BA stable, something of an upscale version of KZ ZSN :)

The thing about the BAX is it’s borderline intense. As nothing has really changed from early April 2022, when I did my review. Often an IEM remains in consistency with ideas of quality. But if you were to ask me my favorite top ten the BAX would still be there. I mean where are you going to get ESTs for that price? But regardless of the price bracket the BAX sits in, it is both correct and unique, only unique because it doesn’t sound exactly like any other IEM. I mean just look at the thing, does it look like any IEM you have ever seen before? No. The comparisons I did when evaluating the BAX showed how it’s not the end-all in naturalness and there can be an intense forwardness to its replay, but I still totally love it. An example of music it doesn’t do well would be the theme, the opening theme to Star Wars. It’s too intense and goes off the scales to make that just too much. But at lower volumes it’s just barely OK, so maybe it’s not 100% well rounded, still that was one of only a few songs that it didn’t so well? Remember the few that got it when it came out loved it. I bet there are a few pairs on the used market now, and what are they going to be priced as? Maybe $200 or $240, I mean where are you going to get big sound for that kind of money? It’s TRNs flagship, and the people who take offense to that basically had issues with TRN in general. I never heard a TRN before I heard the BAX! So I had no idea as to if it was their house sound, or an improvement to their house sound. I will defend the BAX for a long, long time, as rarely do I perceive a monitor as being so cool. My last reviews were all over the place in scoring. I don’t rate everything as perfect, just what I see as a value.

SIMGOT EW100P 3 stars
BLON X HBB Z300 4.5 stars
Tripowin Piccolo 5 stars

I mean don’t expect the BAX bass to be sculpted and textured, as bass is not it’s total strong point, but that’s not what I come to the BAX for. The bass could be improved, yet nothing is perfect, there is basically a range of qualities which an IEM does, some are good at some things, others are good at others. Still the style of forwardness the BAX arrives at makes music big, intense and totally fun, it’s not perfect, but nothing is.

First and only video review of Penon 10th AE on YouTube?

Akros is definitely a head-fier. Sounds a lot like @Dsnuts written review of the 10th AE.

Thankfully, he improved his mic quality. Now I can listen to his reviews longer. Got to upgrade the video quality next.

sellers who usually have around 80% credibility, so I gave up. What happened to you? How many weeks was the average waiting time? Shipping times are already too long. :)

I ordered a laptop battery. Like i said it was around 30% cheaper than the cheapest average store had it. The store was a couple of months old and had no feedback. Tracked with usps/UBI. It's shipped and show as delivered in three days from China to NZ which would only be possible as a series or urgent couriers delivering it personally via a flight with priority boarding.. not free shipping. I had a chat with the seller who of course tried to keep the money then got a refund through ali disputes. I then noticed the exact same pattern of listing with some a set of Timeless afterwards.

As long as Ali hasn't release payment to the seller you should be fine. If they have you're boned. It happens 15 days after the system confirms receipt of the order. They don't care once that's happened no matter what experience you've had as it'd cost them directly. I do wonder if i should take untracked shipping options to avoid this.. but then you don't get half your orders.

Currently going through a credit card charge back process to obtain a refund for my Linglong set that failed in a month.

I want to hear what he’s got to say. As many forum members find value in his analysis. But I’ve never made it more than 10 minutes into an Akros audio review. Due to the: terrible audio, lack of chaptering and his Stream of consciousness/lack of content structure.

Maybe Akros could get some guidance from Paul Wasabii

Tanchjim Kara is 1+4 hybrid and price seems to be confirmed now. Another contender in the 1+4 hybrids.

To be honest most of Tanchjim product that i bought (Tanya, Zero, Ola Bass), i have no intention and expectation for it to be my main daily drive, yet it litterally my main for the last 3-4 months. It not as all rounder like Truthear or Moondrop, but exceeding one aspect of sound for small group of people, that's what make it special... Well hope it's not overpriced
I assume the Moondrop Blessing is the one responsible for making the 1DD+4BA popular. But I wonder which IEM did it 1st.

Edit: Should I guess I'm way too basshead for Tanchjim anything?
Yes most of their iem is quite bright (but not as harsh as EA500)

Do Paul have website that contain all of his bullet points?

Such a shame that I have a so bad fit with A4000 and ze3000.
They seem to sound so nice...

Fit is the most important thing in an IEM IMHO.

No point having a heavenly sound if you can't tolerate the comfort for more than a few minutes. Fit also influences seal -> bad seal = bass frequencies are first to be lost and the sound signature is skewed.

I tested a prototype version of the Kara at Can Jam Singapore a few weeks back.

I would describe it as mid-centric with thick note weight, very musical and fatigue free. Great for vocals and acoustic stuff. Technically decent too. While that wasn't the final tuning, if the $179 USD price is legit, I wouldn't mind buying a pair if the final tuning keeps the goodness of the protoype.

Be really mindful of the store if you're ordering, make sure they've been around a while and have feedback.... There's a pretty common scam at the moment, things are usually 30% cheaper, you'll get a fake tracking number that in my experience showed as delivered in an impossible amount of time, the seller will then offer you a portion as compensation if you complain and pocket the difference. The store I experienced this with was pretty new.

Another quick check is use the "Top Selling" tab. That gives you an idea of what they have actually been selling to get their feedback rating. Some establish a rating selling crap like fridge magnets, cheap plastic toys and hair ties, then put up more expensive items for a ridiculously low price. Check the pattern of feedback for the item you are buying, that is WAY more important than whether 280 people got their bag of rubber bands.

Sometimes legit stores will make a really good offer. But "too good to be true" offers from new stores aren't worth the risk.

Also ALWAYS check the shipping cost, gouging on that is common with baited prices!:triportsad:
