I got the HA-S500-Z, shipped from Japan about a month ago, currently use some Velvet ears, $15 off eBay.
Not sure it changed the audio quality (good or bad), but I like the comfort.

I live in the U.S. and haven't seen a single Boxing day sale, except for the Soundearphones deal, but they ship World Wide, so no, we don't celebrate Boxing Day.

Boxing Day is virtually non-existent in the US.  The only reason I know about it is various friends from Canada and Australia.
