They really can, severely underrated considering that only a few people that have them. :frowning2:

Audio Technica M-50's are on sale for $110 on Amazon... And trust me...I know they are on sale cause I planned on buying them for christmas... but they were $140 then...and my dad said it was 20 bucks out of his "price range"......

I'd say that they are very good for the money, an excellent value for a set of headphones under $100. Can't do wrong. 
 
But yeah, there's some hype that goes beyond that.

Guitar Center is running a $20 off a $99 or more purchase until 12/31. It works both online and in store. I got a pair of Shure SE-215s for $79. They also had DT-770s, M-50s, a few AKGS models, and the KRS line of full sized cans in the local store. The other awesome thing is that they will price match anyone, including JR Music and BH Photo, plus apply the discount.
