Have only used mine with the Meze boom mic and also a £20 boom mic that connects to my Sennheiser 505s and it's worked great with both of those.
That's interesting. Joe said the Meze was quiet on the K7, but if you're experiencing no issues it's probably something off with his set up.

Actually, I just rewatched there and he said the mic and K7 work fine with the PS5, but is seems to be lacking in gain on PC. He speculates it might be an issue with Windows and UAC1. I might reach out to him and see if he has an update (he was going to reach out to Fosi). But thanks for your feedback - much appreciated!

I've only used my Meze with the PS5 in fairness. Might try with the PC later.

In case anyone here is interested in our analog headphones for gaming:

The new closed back headphone, the Audeze LCD-S20 can be use as a gaming headset (it also has a significant amount of passive noise isolation). A reminder that the pin out is like the MM-100 in that it doesn't take any standard 3.5mm dual sided cable. It's pinned out so single sided 3.5mm cables can be plugged into either side.

That means:

Meze's boom mic cable: Will not work
V-moda boom pro and its clones: Works! Recommned plugging into left cup so the mic isn't facing the wrong way.

This doesn't mean dual sided won't work, just it would need to be pinned out specifically for MM-100/S20:

The pin-out for MM-100 cable connector at the headphone side is the following:

TRRS:
Tip - L+
1st Ring - R+
2nd Ring - L-
Sleeve - R-

The wires in the headband are connecting via two TRRS connectors in parallel, so it's not important which side the cable is connected, left or right. Both versions can be used, single ended (TRS) or balanced (TRRS); the left speaker will always take only the left signal and the right speaker will always take the right signal.

Making this cable balanced will require splitting the L and R channels into appropriate pin-outs for your amplifier.

Here's a diagram for the internal wiring to give a better picture of what's happening:

S20 releases in May. From personal impression, it's a warm, smooth sounding headphone, so it will be for those looking for more cinematic, explosive, fun gaming. If you want more neutral/competitive oriented sound, the MM-100 would better suit the need, though it's open backed, so be mindful of that difference.

Of course, we also make the LCD-GX for a higher end gaming headset. Then of course, we also have the Maxwell, which most of you are probably well aware about.
