They were indeed. I have yet to hear the v. 4 or v. 4.5....I like the X though.

Can anyone detail the sonic differences between stock sr80i drivers and Magnum V4 drivers?

would like to hear this. the magnums obliterate the 80 drivers tho

Agreed...I have tried the Magnum X vs SR80 pinks, SR60i and SR60, as well as SR225 pinks and SR225i. They reach lower and higher, and have better detail.

The only ones that came close to beating them were the SR80 pinks, and only based on soul. The Magnum X can sometimes be too perfect.

LOL...well, in my opinion, compared to the normal Grados, sometimes I listen to them and feel like I am in a clinic as opposed to a bar...does that make sense? In my head it does, but I will admit my head is a rather odd place sometimes :)

...dunno...they just kind of seemed to stall. There have been unfinished prototypes being sold off on eBay....

I just finished my first Magnum build with Turbulent X drivers,  here's a pic :

- Rosewood Cups
- Mogami 2534
- Goji headband, plattan lookalike but cheaper and no tag.

I also bought some L-cush off ebay. If they are originals or remake I don't know but they are hard like stone, a pain to wear.
Gonna replace for G-cush when i find something under 60£..

Also bought some plugs and "plug-panels" so i'm gonna make the cable detachable to the cups

Nicely done...where did you get the Goji headband?

Local store in Sweden, their own brand...

Probably from the same chinese factory like urbanears plattan because they are exactly the same,  just one difference, the headband didn't have a tag saying"Urbanears" on the side.  Search on ebay for headphones and u'll find ALOT of different brand with the exact same headphone but just a change in color or maybe even a pattern on the headband instead of one-color

Thinking about buying a pair of California Headphones Laredo and try that headband,  seems nice.

I know it's probably been discussed but can anyone really compare the v.4 to X, or v.5? I heard that the v.5 wasn't worth upgrading to? Just curious.
