Hey all, recently made a purchase I am not too sure about.
I went from having the HD555's for a long time until they finally broke (I have a big head and the bands cracked constantly, small repairs kept it going for a time).
Now i had gotten the V-MODA Crossfade LP2's from the holidays, and while I love the sound quality, they simply aren't big enough for my head.
Although the sound is excellent (to me), I get headaches from wearing them after an hour and the gap definitely does not properly cover my ears, leaving them squished on the padding's ridges.
I'm sure I could stretch them over time, but I have been considering just returning them and getting something different from amazon in the 150-200 price range, maybe more if its worth it.
So I realized im in a situation similar to jjcoolaus'

Minus the glasses, haha, but I am by no means a true audiophile with all the bells and whistles (amps, dacs, whatever makes you guys tick) but would like to have a pair that I don't
have to use an amp for, but
could get one to make it sound better.
I am an avid listener and am getting into producing, so I would love to be able to have great sounds for games/movies, but have no problems when making tunes that should sound good on any system. (maybe that is too much to be asking for, not sure)
I loved the solid construction of the LP2's because I can drop them and know they wont break as easily, but they are a size too small for me.
And the comfort of the HD555's was amazing, but they unfortunately couldn't handle my big head forever.
Then i saw pro1137 follow up by recommending the Beyer Custom One Pro.

It sounds like they would be a good replacement for my current V-MODA LP2s, but can anybody give their 2 cents into my current situation?
The return window for these ends this month, so I would like to give it another try with some advice from people who know what they're doing.

Edit: I would like to add that if anyone could recommend something that has a good amount of noise cancellation, not as loud as the HD555s but doesn't have to be as quiet as the LP2s, and something that can definitely stand up to getting dropped here and there, the HD555's were rather brittle to me and something that can withstand doofus torture would be amazing.
