*:*Hey guys... Before i went out and bought headphones I wanted some advice...I am looking for very very good cancelation or passive cancelation...so.. should i get the Sennhieser hd 38.....AKG K142HD Studio High Definition......  AKG K271MKII Closed Back Circumaural Headphones..... or able planet 1100b? please comment

Well for starters, don't get the AKG K142HD because its semi-open and therefore won't isolate very well. The Able Planets are the only ones that have active noise cancellation. IMO you really don't need active noise cancellation unless you'll be doing the majority of your listening in extremely noisy environments otherwise a headphone with good isolation is enough and will give you better overall sound quality. I don't have experience with the remaining cans you've mentioned so you'll want to get thoughts from someone else on how they compare to each other on isolation.

I think I'll go with the Ultrasone Pro 900 - portable, sturdy, comes with a case, good for rock/metal/trance and there's less chance I'll be looking for an upgrade (Unlike if I were to get the Pro 750 or HFI 780 instead).

Yes/No?

I want to see if I can get a used FiiO E11 just under $44

I found this, but I am a bit skeptical of the legitimacy.

If it is real, I'll have just enough money to get my headphone and amp.

Their site feels too naked to be 100% legit. Their contact page and about us are just a single line each. Personally, I wouldn't give them my money.

Doesn't look very legitimate to me. The E11 is only $58 on Amazon, you're better off pulling together a few more bucks and getting it there.

Um, I've got two things I gotta ask, not sure if both of them fits into the parameters of this thread... so I'll just ask the question that fits the best in this thread.

I'm looking for a pair of headphones like most people who enter this thread are. I have no experience in terms of sound quality - I have no pair of existing headphones to base anything on, just a pair of default Apple earphones. I'm looking for something portable, nothing too small or big; comfort is essential since I'll most likely be using it everywhere, from studying to just blocking out noisy roommates, so isolation is an important factor (but it doesn't have to be total isolation, something where I don't have to play my music too loud in order to block out excessive/unwanted noise. The budget is around 200 dollars, but I'm willing to go up to 250 if necessary.

There aren't a lot of places that carry the headphones available for demo since I live in Toronto unfortunately... and the only comparison I can form is with an ATH-M50 and B&W P5 since two of my friends have those.

I listen to (from most often to least): k-pop, mainstream pop, rnb/ballads, rock/alternative, hip hop/rap. I listen to bands like Lifehouse, Keane, Neon Trees and then artists like James Morrison, John Mayer and Michael Buble, so a pair of headphones that bring out the instruments would be very nice. In terms of highs, mids, and lows... I don't know what exactly I'm looking for. But I think if I had to decide, it'd lean towards bass... and if I were to bring out vocals of the artists, would it be mids or highs? Hopefully, it'll be something that doesn't make the highs sound harsh/scratchy, just clear as it should, and not make me cringe.

I don't want anything too analytical since this is a pair of headphones I'm looking to enjoy music from. Something that'll make the music sound as it should (fun, but not too fun?).

Thank you in advance for all feedback! :)

Then I'll just go ahead and get the E6. Which brings me to my last question:
Does it come with the iphone/ipod > 3.5 jack adapter new out of the box, or do I need to pull out another 10 dollars and buy it separate?

I want to see if I can get a used FiiO E11 just under $44.

I ordered an e11 yesterday from j&r. I saw they had an "openbox" version previously for 45 bucks but out of stock. If u are that patient you cld keep checking their site if they get another one. J&r is an authorized dealer of FiiO products so u can be sure not to get a fake.

Thanks for quick response. Unfortunately I can't find the Headphones in a reasonable price in my country. [They're about 530$ here]
I think now 200-260$ was a bit too steep, just 200$ then.
I will not go out with the Headphones, they are mainly just for Studio use.

More recommendations please.

What type of sound are you looking for?
