Good RCA female to 1/4 male adapter?
As I said in my post, I don't want to pay for a cable. I'm looking for an adapter. -
Good RCA female to 1/4 male adapter?
In anticipation of receiving my KICAS Caliente, I bought a pair of BJC RCA interconnects from a fellow Headfier. Unfortunately, my dumb ass did not realize that the outputs on my EMU 0404 are 1/4. Oops. Anyways, I'm looking to get another DAC soon, perhaps the VALAB NOS DAC, but in the meantime...- jsedgwick

First listening impressions/reviews of Q1 2009 Purity Audio Kicas and Caliente Group buy
Very first impression, more to come (though I'm crap at describing sound): My biggest issue with the HD650s was the 'veil', especially the stuffiness on harder rock music. Before burn in, it seems like that veil is GONE. I was previously using the E-MU 0404 built in headamp.- jsedgwick

HD650 Appreciation
I love mine. Currently tripping out to "From Here We Go Sublime" by The Field. Also, never heard Radiohead sound so good. Also, never heard Yo-Yo Ma sound so good. Also... However, I am a little disappointed that with some of the harder rock I listen to (AC/DC, Tool, etc) they're quite...- jsedgwick

Loose earcup on HD650
Did you try clipping it into place without the foam pad? The pad sort of folds down into the crevice and might be preventing the earcup from sticking. Obviously this would just be a diagnostic, unless you prefer the sound sans foam.- jsedgwick

Official NYC Annual Spring Meet Saturday, March 21st
This is off topic, but I thought it was a good place to ask with all the NYC guys around... I live in north jersey and can get into the city easily. What are some good HiFi shops? Is there some list of shops hanging around somewhere I could look at?- jsedgwick

Radiohead: Vinyl vs CD Comparisons ??
...what makes Radiohead so great. I doubt Phil, Ed, or Colin cared much, especially if there was nothing to do as per the arrangement (which wasn't done by RH). They probably didn't even want to do the Grammies. Maybe they were home hard at work on LP8. *hopes* This article teases me so... -

E-MU 0404 USB Pops and crackles - help
runswithaliens, great post... I actually figured out my problem earlier today. I was messing around on Windows 7 and I tried ASIO (not asio4all). To my great surprise, it worked. Before reformatting, I had Win7 on another partition, but I must not have tried ASIO on it, only DS/WASAPI...- jsedgwick

E-MU 0404 USB Pops and crackles - help
...The foobar output buffer also matters. If it's not high enough, you'll get pops occasionally. Some have reported that turning that buffer *down* from over 1000 ms to around 250 ms has helped their problems. I find I have better results on my laptop at or over 2000 ms personally. Also...- jsedgwick
