In anticipation of receiving my KICAS Caliente, I bought a pair of BJC RCA interconnects from a fellow Headfier. Unfortunately, my dumb ass did not realize that the outputs on my EMU 0404 are 1/4. Oops. Anyways, I'm looking to get another DAC soon, perhaps the VALAB NOS DAC, but in the meantime I need two adaptesr as I don't want to pay for a new cable that I won't use for very long. I figure most DACs have RCA outputs, so whatever I get will be fine with my ICs (let me know if this is incorrect). So, I'm wondering:

- What characteristics I should look for in an adapter (what metal, etc)
- What companies make good ones
- specific recommendations if you know of some
- am I gonna be sacrificing SQ while temporarily using an adapter?

Thanks
james

You should generally avoid "Monster" cable products. Check out Parts Express for Belkin or Dayton products.

The monster cable linked will work fine, sound fine and the price is right. Monster, as a company sucks, because they like to sue everyone that uses the word monster.
