Looking for a new reliable set of headphones

My experience was Denon D2000/Audio-Technica-WS77/Shure SE 215. And all of them eventually broke (except 215s). D2000 had a typical problem where one cup fell off due to faulty screw, and nobody in my town wants to fix it. WS77 had a problem with the cable which im too lazy to fix. After that i...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

My D2000 broke today. After 2 years of everyday use right cup fell off. So sad. Impulsively bought Audio-Technica WS77 for a temporary replacement, they're good, but i already miss a supreme comfiness of D2000.

sony mdr ma900 vs sony mdr 1r

MA900 is alot more reference sounding than r1. It's one of the best headphones for genres you mentioned, also the open back design is always a win against closed back for classical music, lightweight construction is also a plus, providing hours of fatigue-free listening.

Sony MDR MA 900 (new release from Sony)

MA900 is more "calm" and flat sounding, compared to hd650. Detail retrieval is about the same, but female vocals on ma900 doesn't "scream" on you even at high volume. I doesn't try to say hd650s is screaming on you, no. They just a little less polite.

Sony MDR MA 900 (new release from Sony)

Ma900 is on par with hd650, with more refined treble, less bass, more flimsy and lightweight construction. Pure Win and my top recommendation for everyone, except bassheads. Doesn't expected something this awesome coming from Sony.

    D2000. PRO 900. DT 770 or XB1000 ?

Why you didn't suggest d2k's, Mal? I see only two options there: d2k's and dt770 pro. Others just would not impress. I'm leaning towards d2k's because of the bigger soundstage. Dt 770s is your only way if you want isolation, though.

    Denon d2000 no bass. Help!

Try to use an equalizer, bump up lowest frequencies, like 30-50hz by 4db and see what happen.

    Cheapest place to buy D2000/5000s?

Seyo-shop.com still have a whole DX000 line for sale at decent prices. I ordered mine from them a year ago. I was a little scared at first to order from them because of the basic design of the shop, and relatively low prices, but when i saw they accept paypal i decided to give it a try. I was...

Best Denon Headphones for Street use?

D1001 or Creative Aurvana Live could fit the bill, because they encorporate the same Fostex drivers, which is one of the best on the market i think, only a little smaller - 40mm.  BUT! They do leak sound, and this makes them impossible to use on the street without disturbing others. If judge...

First post, looking for a new headset around $400 budget

...or trying to survive on the battlefield. When my friend heard a nearby explosion, while playing Battlefield 3 with my D2000 on, he said "holy ****!" and jumped on the chair. I was pity on him and didn't let him to try Amnesia: The Dark Descent, since i was worry about him, this game can...

    Brief Odac impressions

Quote: Wrong statements there. There is no uncolored headphones on the market. Every headphone have their dips and accents. And, a truly uncolored headphone with perfectly flat FR would be just unenjoyable to listen, because when perfectly flat and uncolored response enters our ear, it's...

Competitive Gaming! Need help on choosing competitive gaming audiophile quality headphones.

You don't need a great headphone to success on competitive scene, most famous players use non-audiophile equipment and still achieve stunning results.  AKGs will be fine if you listening on low to moderate volume. But if on high volume... Ouch.

PLEASE HELP ME FINALLY PICK SOME HEADPHONES

I would pick the Denon D2000. Instrument separation is here, sometimes it can be a little bit too much. Soundstage is fine too, due to big drivers. It's a fun phone and your music will sound lively and fun too. Another great phone from the pack - Sennheiser HD 650, but its very polite phone, and...

Need recommendation. (hd595's died, $1k budget)

D5K if you want some really heavy bass. Great for Battlefield and movies, but when listening critically to the music you can notice what mid bass is bleeding on the mids. D2K or D7K for more balanced bass. Less great for Battlefield and movies, but nothing bleeds on your mids. I would be...

The best $1500 Bang for buck headphone rig in 2012

LCD2+O2+ODAC seems like a pretty good end-game rig for me. Lows that can impress you, mids that flat, highs that doesn't try to kill you. And all this beauty coupled with High Perfomance DAC+AMP. One possible problem - comfort would be an issue, LCD weights too much.

Recommend Me a Headphone a Bassy/Immersive gaming experience.

Grab a pair of Denon D2000, while you still can. It's hard to find a HP that delivers more immersive experience than D2000.

Sony MDR MA 900 (new release from Sony)

They look pretty enough for me. And since i use headphones at home i don't really care about the aesthetics. Looking for in-depth reviews including FR graph.

    Denon AH-D2000 need opinions

Yes, you will be able to feel the bass. Thats why i love D2K's. They're pretty comfy, but bulky. Ultra-lows are boosted (thats why you feel the bass) Lows are neutral (punch isn't overpowering, but still here) Mids are flat Highs are somewhat spikey (you can experience sibilance, or...
