Isn't that what the Hiby M300 already is? It's essentially an Android-based iPod Touch.

Yes these are great examples or a product that already exists and seems to be doing well in the market but I think Moondrop should have gone this route and shot to price it even cheaper around $150 if possible. M300 is $200 and R4 is $250+ so there's room for an ultra budget DAP.

Not sure if that was the final tuning, but it sounded neutral bright, very technical, transparent and analytical. One for the technical junkies and trebleheads.

Sounds about right though, knowing the BQEYZ house sound.

Makes me wonder if there wouldn't be more of a market for just a super budget DAP? Like take all the phone and camera components out, make a dedicated DAP with android, cheaper and slightly smaller screen, WIFI, and the built in DSP and sell for $150-200?

I think it's the "been there done that" mentality and audiophile phone really haven't been done in years since Onkyo if you factor in just phones with a balanced output. I would love to have a phone case with built in dongle but that's probably just me.

Mad respect for Moondrop CEO. I’m always amazed by people who actually run a business, employ other people and be responsible for their livelihood as well, not just their own.

Phone is a tricky thing given how much it is more than a communication device. I’m talking about the security aspect, the banking, 2FA, that sorts of thing. My phone is quite old but I still don’t want to switch because of all of those things that have to be transferred safely.

I've used adapter like this to hold a small DAC Dongle to my phone...

It's Cirrus Logic Flagship Chip mentioned here.

They call the dual CS43131 chips of the Dawn PRO flagship so I guess it will be a Dawn Pro hardwired to a phone's mobo.

This set seems like such a good fit for me. You are now adding to an incredibly small pool of impressions of it. I feel like linsoul missed the mark on marketing here hardcore but i can see how they wouldn't want to promote this when the monarch grab alot of attention and they could potentially cannibalize sales maybe.

Has anyone received their Dusk from Shenzhen Audio? Ordered mine on April 6 and no word of shipping almost 3 weeks later…

In general things seem to be pretty quiet around the Dusk…
