I got a ZS10 Pro 2, mostly to replace a pair of ZS10 pro X that got crushed under a crate when helping a friend move I didn't want to give KZ another chance with their latest stunts, but I liked the ZS10 pro X, and I didn't want to spend more than $40, so I thought I'd give them another chance since it seems they've been trying to at least mend their ways a bit.First off I joined the CCA Trio Club
Must be one of the best KZ/CCA models, Like it with tuning switches turned for some extra bass.
Then the new KZ ZX10 Pro 2, really dont like this one. Tried play with the switches and cant find a config I like, comes of as overall bright, sibilant and harsh.
Will try and burn it in, test some more tips and maybe impedance adapter
Anyhow, my conclusion is that KZ made a mistake shipping it with foam tips by default, because with foam tips I had exactly the same impression as you, it sounded tinny, distant, very harsh and fatiguing.
Switching to a pair of silicon + foam tips I tend to use on most of my stuff really changed the sound. I won't pretend I have enough experience at critical listening, but at least, switching from foam tips to those silicon + foam tips drastically changed the sound for me, and I think it gets close to the memory I have of the ZS10 Pro X, with a bit more width and less physical bass rumble, while using a UUUD configuration.
Definitely not as good as some of the other stuff I have, but for a cheap IEM to use when running or doing stuff outside, it'll do.

Well I guess the new zs10 is a cheap five driver and for 35$ it’s cheaper then the old zs6 which you can still buy on Amazon… I wanted to see if it can upgrade the zs6 because I hated the original zs10. I like the BA treble so that’s one reason I passed in the similarly priced Trio. You held out on the Trio hype but you excitedly bought the KZ which costs more and is getting blah reviews? That's like saying I held out on buying the diamond because i'm excited for the cubic zirconia? Oh well...everyone is different. *shrugs*
And I bought it before any reviews came out so…Haha! But costing more is it? Perhaps due to prorder, mine is on discount..30-odd usd.. But yeah no sign of it. Am still hoping on it being decent, though!
Nowadays roughly 100€ gets you so far! Both of these have their strengths and weaknesses, but honestly neither does anything too detrimental. Reviews for both incoming.
Here's a review of the 7Hz Aurora: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/7hz-aurora.27147/reviews#review-33698
Pros:
Generously accessorized, with modular cable to boot
Solid build
Decent comfort despite larger shells
Above average isolation
Moderately easy to drive
Balanced U-shaped tonality
Very clean sonics
Textured, fast and tight bass
Transparent midrange
Good sparkle in treble
Excellent technicalities - imaging, soundstage and micro-detailing are a highlight
Cons:
Shells are on the larger side and are prone to smudges
Metallic timbre noted in upper frequencies
Not for bassheads

Noticed that the grill on the Aurora looks like a flower, never seen this before on an IEM.

tldr on ZS10 pro 2 please? I find it very difficult to watch/follow his reviews. Totally earnest and deep, but i miss a minute (or ff) and then I can't figure out which iem he is talking about etc...

These are definitely not the one, that's for sure. I can see where Celest was trying to go with these, but ultimately, it's a lack luster final product. This is the one, huh?
Also fantastic to read your articles, brother. Thank you for sharing! Here's a review of the 7Hz Aurora: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/7hz-aurora.27147/reviews#review-33698
As much as I want to enjoy IEMs with a brighter, less bass dominant sig. I just simply can't. These looked super interested at first a few months ago, but now I can see they're not for me. Thanks again, brother!
I thought the Timeless II went back to the drawing board after the original IEM release did not meet expectations.Same nozzle on the Timeless 2 that never came out, lol.
