LETSHUOER S15
Just finished a review on S15, I have been very impressed. First planar I truly like.
While design is either liked or hated, the sound seem to be liked by most people.
Feel free to read if its of any interest, thanks.

One hundo percent, I'm really excited to see if I get the same response. I'll never forget the shock I felt switching between my ancient Beats headphones and the first IEMs I got. Wondering if my ears were working correctly, that feeling hasn't happened again for me.

I'm assuming chasing that feeling is what all the ten-trillion dollar end-game sets are all about.
I had this feeling happen to me testing out the E20 lol as soon as I put one of my other sets in I was amazed. It’s rare but it can still occur!!

Boys.

I have reached audio nirvana.

My very very very good and trusting buddy sent out his LE STORMs for me to demo and picture.

Well, these have ruined me. Nothing will ever sound the same. I am absolutely blown away.
Its always fun to try some of the best IEMs out there even if its out of our budget, enjoy. Also one of your best photos I have seen. Epic.

Thank you so much @Leonarfd - from the man himself. I am honored. This is definitely most likely, a once in a lifetime opportunity and with all the listening time I'll get, I'm going to enjoy it very much. Your S15 review as always was killer, fantastic job all around, my friend.

Great review, as always! My general question for the forum is: are we seeing the peaks of planar in IEMs? I feel like none released this year really lived up to the hype besides this one and the MP145, which seem to share some pretty similar tuning philosophies… this one using cooler tech outside of planar to achieve more?

Simgot has some new tribrids coming out with planar tech involved, along with DDs and PZTs.

I’ll have a read of this over a beer… it better not be too good a review 😬😂
Smaller review than usual, but I wont deny you your beer while you read :beerchug:

Great review as always and definitely tempting - keen to get a warmer single driver again, DD or planar. Cheers 🍻

Greetings discovery thread community.

I've had a lot of fun gathering survey data over at the Watercooler community over the years and in the interests of year-end fun I thought it would be interesting and cool to do a survey here to get a sense of this community's favorites and a general picture of the tastes. So if anyone is interested please take the following poll:

https://forms.gle/S1N2oQgYYgwC4iAs9

The only required question is the first one and I have it set up so you don't need to use your email-- or even be logged in-- to take it. If I get some buy in from the members here I'll put the time in to collating the data before we close out 2023.

Cheers,

Jeff.

@theintention re: planar: I don’t think the 14.x mm planar technology peaks yet. The one I managed to get my ears on, including that well regarded MP145, are still a way away from the LCD-i4 and the true planar headphones. Yeah, we cannot expect the same physical sensation of sound hitting the whole ears, but the tactility of planar headphones should be doable. The F1 Pro has slightly rekindled my hope in this technology. These 14.x mm drivers have the best potential to be game changer, IMHO. Cheap(er), technical, coherent like single DD.

MP145 are good, but not great. Even with balanced nozzle the bass is more than enough. I wished there was at least a DD inside to make the air moving. Increasing the high mids and treble isn't that easy with EQ, because it becomes shouty quickly. Maybe I'll try the treble nozzles instead.
