I haven't had any issue with my EST50s since purchase. I admittedly had issues that I thought the unit had some clicky sounds intermittently after 1 month. I immediately went ahead to ask the local reseller if there was anything I could do. Penon side told the reseller to have me return for the fix, but I found out the clicky sounds came from the DAC i was using so it was the end of it.

In the end I don't think any brand is perfect. Just nice to see the good customer service even if the problem was on my end.

Edit: Talk about bass though, I came from the old Westone UM Pro 50 so I knew what I was after. EST50s has a tighter and less bass but significantly better quality bass, the mids are similar enough but the biggest deal here is the treble. Switching to another cable helps control everything to be cleaner, tighter with a bit more treble and I am just your average happier man.
The crazy part was when I did my EST50 review I knew nothing really about cables, and I wasn’t using my preferred ear-tips then. So somehow with different cables and wide-bore silicone ear-tips the EST50 has evolved to even a better place. I love the new ASOS cable with it. One of my all time favorite IEMs and any price. It probably has slightly more bass than I regularly listen too, so it’s a treat to hear it. The bass is really not interfering with the rest of the tone in my view?

Damn, that sucks :frowning2: did Senn honor the warranty?

I've heard some people who had warranty where shafted by Sennheiser support, requesting a hefty repair fees charge or never replying to complaints.

You'd think Senn would tighten their QC after numerous complaints, but it seems they don't care.

My pair has no warranty as I bought it from another head-fier who sold a sealed IE600 to me around a week ago

It was a new unit Senn shipped to someone who returned their IE600 because it came with faulty MMCX connectors, probably didn't want to risk more QC issues.

Hmm, seems ever since Sonova bought over the consumer wing of Sennheiser (https://www.sonova.com/en/sonova-co...iser-consumer-division-and-forms-new-business), things seem to have gone pear shaped.

Looks like Truthears Nova is hitting Harman target very well too (and it's Sharur approved  ).

But Timmy colab looks good too. I see now what he wanted to do, and why he praised so much Xenns Top

Hype2.. well still looks great.. There's some unit or measurements variations here (precog squig), but Hype2 still has best transition from bass to mids.. also Sonion drivers.. but not as refined treble (just a spike)

For what it's worth, I have tried the Hype 2 and I thought it was absolutely fantastic for the money. I haven't gotten the chance to hear the other IEMs on the graph, but for $300, the Hype 2 is a safe bet for just about anyone except maybe the Bassheads. The mid-bass has some of the best texture and details I've heard period. Not sure exactly how they've pulled it off, but the Hype 2 has an exceptional playback to my ears and If I had started over today, it would be one of the sets I'd buy for sure 😃

I thought that was a minor channel imbalance between the two channels...and then I noticed two different names:sweat_smile:.

I was able to secure another $100 LEC from Linsoul. I am stuck on what to get but will likely pick from these:

Shanling UA5
Simgot EA1000
Shozy 1.4
Leisurely Audio L6

Does anyone care to share what you would choose?

Simgot EA1000. There is a lot of good words about these iems. Not a single bad review I have seen.

I have a few negative things about EA1000

1
The ergonomics is not good for people who have larger ears with deeper depth to get good seal, this is due to nozzle being short and body not made ergonomic. Problem is that since nozzle is short the body of the shell hit the concha and prevents deeper insert.
Even with long tips I have to readjust the EA1000 after some minutes, remember this might be a very personal problem and I had the same problem with EA500.

2
One of EA1000 strengths is in the forward upper mids, it gives it plenty of clarity and resolving capability. But this also means it boosted very much, this can be fatiguing for some more than others. I can handle it pretty well, but even so I like it more relaxed. Good thing is that you can tame it slightly by using foam and filters with the nozzle, but you also loose some of the airy capability then.

Other than that the EA1000 remains one of the best purchases in its price range.

He said it's sent to him by Tyvan. But not for free? He wouldn't do a disclaimer. I'm confused

Thanks for sharing these impressions.

Did you try the Azla Sedna Light tips too? With shorter nozzles, I find the L size to go really good as it holds iems perfectly well and gives a good seal too. The iems as Singularity and OD200 have relatively smaller nozzles and I tried every possible tips - SF W1, Tangzu, Corier, Divinus velvet etc. Azla light is the only saviour.

You convinced me. I'll take Hype2.. and I'll take Truthears Nova. I'm very curious about how close it's to Variations.
