I ended up enjoying the tuning for the most part, I went way too lean based on the reviews I saw online. Most of the reviewers you end up landing on seem to have an affinity for female vocals and light pop stuff. So I thought that gear tuned towards that preference was "better". But it's not a lot of fun to listen to drum and bass on the Diokos as it turns out. So the "bloat" of the Quartets is a benefit to that kind of music.

I've landed on the Quartet feeling worth it for the price, the fact is that the $100 price point is kind of a no man's land between the budget stuff and legitimately better sets. I think everyone would be better served listening to some $25-$35 options and then jumping in on a $250-$500 set that matches their preference and library.

The Quartets are nicer than the budget things I have, and they're cheap enough that I won't cry if they walk away from my desk at the office. But I'm not sure I would immediately replace them if they were lost? I guess that's a bit of a condemnation of them but that's where I'm at.

Oh, and any set that people are interested in will get a lot of chat in here and then disappear on release. Because the people waiting for their set that are excited have them. Once I post impressions I don't need to talk about them in here, I can listen to them. I don't want to constantly talk about the same set over and over in the discovery thread, it doesn't seem to fit the convo to me.
yes, for a fun signature quartet can be a good iems.

BitPerfect I guess

Not only.
In case of MQA, with UAPP you can decide whether to perform the first unfold in UAPP and have the DAC execute the render (purple light) or, if you have a DAC that executes both decoder and render, pass the complete stream and have the whole process of unfold from the DAC.

The TIDAL app, on the other hand, always does the first unfold, you can't decide.

And if you don't have the MQA compliant DAC, you get the stream LSBs 'consumed' by MQA signaling, which is useless in that context.

yep, looks like this is it so it would suggest that instead of 10th anniversary gift which are IEMs of value 25-45% of my order they (which they didn't include at first) they sent me in the second package just regular 99 ones; I made a bigger purchase because of fact I will get some proper IEMs that I can resell if needed

I put in the exact title you listed and it did not give me an item. I will try something else on the Penon site. Searching "copper plugs" didn't get a result either.

Would warm up more clinical iems and headphones?
Typically cable builders will use the palladium coating as an option and at times even charge $100 to add such option. I will have to check but I have one or two cables that simply have the add from the cable builder. Adding a slight warmth and weight, which with the Purple Palladium Plug, can be added to any modular cable.

Well, you would be better to use a whole different cable to start. It’s more to add the Purple Cooper Plug to add thickness when using a modular cable. The Obsidian with the Purple Plug would add a combination of traits to that clinical IEM. Obsidian and Purple Plug even warmer than straight Obsidian. The Mix is using silver (pure silver) and copper to add brighter attributes, and the Purple Copper Plug then adding thickness there. So it has a few uses. :)

Penon has a good reputation for their customer service. Maybe reach out to them and voice your concern that you were sent their standard “freebie“ set, as your 10th Anniversary promotional gift.

You could put it with full-size, but I have never tried it. Better maybe to use a warmer amp, if you were using full-size? Though who knows, the Obsidian may work for full-size?
