Well that's good to hear.. I ordered the K450 this evening after spending only an hour with the K422.. The 422's were well worth the money and I look forward to hearing the 450's. The 422's will be a nice intro to portable music for my friends that don't like IEM's.

Be aware that the sound signature is similar but more refined.

The K422's are semi open though which will also may be a problem for me as I don't want to hear outside noises.. and I don't want people to hear me playing Miley Cirus... I joke, but you know what I mean.

damn. just received the K422's and you're right. they're not closed, as it said in the description. which sucks, because i wanted to use them on the subway. and i didn't want people to know i still listen to Yes.

that being said...they are a great size, nice build, nice fit....and the sound is pretty darn good. obviously, not as much bass as i'm used to with my larger headphones, but still very nice.

so....good phones, great deal....but not what i needed. :frowning2:

What would be the best deal for headphones around 100~? I recently missed out on the ATH-M50 :frowning2: Was just about to come and order and the link was no longer valid.

AKG K242HD / K240mkII if you have a decent amp or an STX, otherwise no.

Jaycar Pro Monitor Headphones would be the best deal in my opinion. The exact same as the Fischer FA-003 and the Brainwavs HM5, both of which are regarded to be an awesome deal at $150, yet 1/2 the price of both of them.

+1 for Jaycar Pro, good catch

I am a little bit biased, as mine are coming in the mail. I have the ATH-M50s, and they drop to $100 pretty often on eBay. Some guy has a pair of Shure SRH-840 for $20 on E-Bay (auction, sadly. One day left.)  They need earpads ($15) and a cable ($20). Hopefully they stay low. It'd really stink to get into a bid-war with another Head-Fi'er. xD
