When it comes to dealers, there are often multiple categories, columns A-F.  The large companies who sometimes sell to other dealers even get one column pricing, the step down from that gets another, etc.

Sorry for the double post - I didn't quote this in my original reply - now this will make more sense.  If you click on that link, the photo is for the K240 studio.  The 240 MK II headphones don't have the gold trim.  Also, the K240 studio doesn't come with 2 earpads and 2 cables.  But, the musician's friend website, under specs, lists the earpads & cable extras.  So, do they just have the wrong photo & are actually shipping the K240 MK II?
 
Anyone know?  MF hasn't answered my email.

Ah, just a bit of a misunderstanding. I was just considering what they typically have sold for recently. It seems like most headphones can be found for a fair bit lower than the MSRP, so I usually don't pay much attention to MSRP and consider the price of a product to be what it typically sells for. I don't even pay attention to amazon's "X% off" or the list prices. Almost none of those are indicative of what the product actually sells for at most locations. That said, I do like amazon because they generally have better prices on a lot of products.
