Yep, I live in Canada and got the D7000s for $700 including shipping last year from J&R.

Can you call in and ask J&R for their best price on any headphone or is it just limited to the D2000's? I always see a lot of I just got the D2000's at whatever price when I called into J&R. I'm asking because I live in Canada, a sort of headphone dead zone in terms of good deals

Sorry for the double post - I didn't quote this in my original reply - now this will make more sense.  If you click on that link, the photo is for the K240 studio.  The 240 MK II headphones don't have the gold trim.  Also, the K240 studio doesn't come with 2 earpads and 2 cables.  But, the musician's friend website, under specs, lists the earpads & cable extras.  So, do they just have the wrong photo & are actually shipping the K240 MK II?

Anyone know?  MF hasn't answered my email.

I must be blind. I'm not seeing that. I'm seeing $250-ish, which isn't quite half priced.

They're clearly at half price, regardless if I was wrong about it being a good deal.

That's half price off a highly inflated MSRP ($540.)  No one has sold it near that price for years.  Harman sells the K701 on their clearance section for $215 last time I checked.

I should have double checked. It was late, I was browsing this thread and amazon, I saw 55% off and assumed it was an awesome deal. Sorry all

Ah, just a bit of a misunderstanding. I was just considering what they typically have sold for recently. It seems like most headphones can be found for a fair bit lower than the MSRP, so I usually don't pay much attention to MSRP and consider the price of a product to be what it typically sells for. I don't even pay attention to amazon's "X% off" or the list prices. Almost none of those are indicative of what the product actually sells for at most locations. That said, I do like amazon because they generally have better prices on a lot of products.

I'm due to take delivery of the K240's on Friday so I will let y'all know what's in the box. The main thing to look for is that the MKII just has extra "accessories" correct? I will check the color of the trim on the headphones too.
