Save yourself $90 and just dont have grills!!!
 
But, don't forget you're also going to need pads, headband pad, and a cable. I think the pads are just as ridiculously priced as the rest.

the good thing is afaik, Sennheiser USA has a $6.xx flat shipping fee for these parts

I did prefer the HD600 when I had them both...I really regret letting it go(hd600) especially for the price I SOLD it!

Likely why replacement parts are astronomically high. You used to be able to build HD650's for ~$240; although keep in mind, you're missing the box, warranty, and 1/4" - 3.5mm cable

These prices don't make any sense. HD600 drivers are almost 50% more expensive than HD650? o.0 
HD650 grill almost 4x the price of the HD600 grill? Go figure.

You're also not getting matched drivers.
