Sennheiser HD580/HD600 replacement driver

Hey guys, one of the drivers on my HD580 crapped out and needs to be replaced. I've been going through the Sennheiser USA website and I don't see any replacement drivers for sale in the parts store. I've been going through some older threads and it seems these used to be available for purchase, but I can't find them. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Do I just call them up and order part number 91570?

has anybody had to this recently? Let me know how you went about it and your overall experience with Sennheiser customer service department/parts store.

I wish I could help you by directing you to an appropriate source for the Sennheiser driver.  The only issue I'd worry about is driver matching.  Considering that your current pair is a few years old now, it's hard to tell how much variance there was between production runs and then consider the current burn-in time that your current drivers have.   I have a pair of HD-580s and they are truly gems.  Good luck to you.

Oh, here was a good thread on the forum here that I was able to locate: http://www.head-fi.org/t/464459/replacing-hd-580-drivers

Guess I'll give them a call tomorrow then, if they're still available for around $50 I'll probably just get the pair. thanks for the link

I gave Sennheiser a call today, drivers are available and shipped from here in the US. Price is $62.95 per driver(HD600 btw)+ $6.50 flat rate shipping. Not bad if your ordering a few parts.smile.gif

Did you end up replacing one or both? If you did only replace one, could you tell the difference in sound between the two, or did it match well enough?

I haven't done anything yet. I'll call Sennheiser next Monday and order 1 HD600 driver, and 2 hd600 grills.smile.gif

I had a brand new pair in my hands, and they worked out great! Most importantly, I wasn't ready to dish out another $50 on a new pair of Senn earpads.
