I'm planning on buying these. Can anyone tell me how these sound or direct me to a good review? From what I have read, these are just 'good enough' !

I use them for the gym sometimes.  They seal/isolate well, and aren't half bad sounding.  Bought them a year ago for $40 with free shipping, and that's about what I'd pay for them again.
One thing to note is that they have an unusually short cord.

I ordered mine, except it was from the Recording Store somewhere near NYC... Everything's perfect but I'm just not a personal fan of the sound.

Considering a Shure SRH940 as well. Sitting on a credit on Amazon - would you strongly recommend against a third party seller (fulfilled by Amazon) versus an authorized dealer?

Most likely you will not get the 2 years warranty with Shure, I don't think there are any fake shures, so warranty is the big thing (especially if you sell it back on here, people like stuff that still have warranty, and Shure allows for warranty to transfer).

There appear to be at least a few Shure authorized third party sellers on Amazon including SoundEarphones and Sam Ash, so I think I will spend the extra dollars to ensure I get the warranty.
