We all hear things differently. I say do not worry. I used my Traillii almost exclusively on my n6ii r01 and I loved every moment of it. I did not hear it as bright in the treble. But I also do not have the ti version. This may make a slight difference in SS.

The sound is great, I just found the device too slow. Having been spoiled by the DX300..😊

are you referring to the UI or the SS?

UI. I want both speed of UI ánd top sound quality. DX300 is giving me that, for my taste, and there will be a faster R2R implementation down the road I'm sure.

How are you liking the Thummim?

I’ve only had a few days with them but do they sing on my desktop system. Wow! I’m still trying to wrap my head around the SS. But I am enjoying them thoroughly. Hard to choose which monitor I want to listen to now! Haha

The heck are you expecting? Speed seems fine to me. I don't play the you tube on it. Faster than Astell & Kern's stuff still. Sound quality trumps everything else or we wouldn't have some of the Frankenstacks folks post up around these parts.

I'm with @MatW on this. Of course sound is number one, but in 2021, so is speed, UX, stability and convenience. Especially for the prices we're paying.

Yeah, and I don't have a desktop system right now to supplement anything, so I see the appeal, for sure. (Didn't fully read @MatW sig before I posted)
For me, right now, sound has to be everything, lol.

Since you've already got one on the way just put everyone else's impressions out of your mind so you can approach it with fresh ears. It's amazing the little rabbit holes we can get worked up into prior to hearing a piece of gear for ourselves :)

Agree! I often remind myself to try and listen with an open mind, notwithstanding/despite the extensive comments I’ve read. I feel that confirmation bias is often penetratingly subliminal and I’m no stranger to it. I had a blast listening to some Chinese vocals with VE8 and my N6ii ti - the soundstage is very intimate and it is just marvellously different from my other source-IEM pairings. Hope you enjoy your purchase 😎

Don't forget battery life. The DX300 can easily play for over 8 hours.
