I'm from upstate New York.

Turning the tables, are you the actual George Hincapie who rode in the Tour de France? :)
I'm on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting the answer to this little zinger :)

(I'm also originally from upstate, and a cyclist myself)

No, just a fan. He's my favourite Pro, and I was fortunate to meet him at the TdF Team Presentation at Puy du Foy in 2011, and again in the Pyrenees the following year :)

Sorry to disappoint.

Current:

1. Meze Empyrean
2. Sennheiser HD800s

3. Focal Celestee

Empyrean is for me a great all rounder, works well even with loudness war stuff and not so well recorded music. HD800s is amazing for well recorded, spacious music. Both are extremely comfy which is important to me and they complement each other well. Celestee is good for a closed back but I don't use it that often. (Only when I can't use my open ones)

Not disappointing! Cool you met him. Always one of my favorite American TdF riders. The ultimate domestique, but he also had real talent.

Curious about your list. You appear to own most of the ZMF line except for the Aeolus. I'm very interested in the Aeolus. What about it didn't you like? Or was it redundant to another headphone in your collection?

Thanks.

I have it on order for the 2nd time. I originally sold it because I found it very similar to the Atticus which I already had. Giving it another try in a harder wood and have been listening to open headphones more lately. I think Aeolus is the safest bet in the lineup actually. ZMF house sound, 2nd least expensive, and seems to be the most universally loved.

Would have loved to see him win P-R.

Lists like that have been known to cause fights. Can't wait.

Edition XS so low? I don't own them, but interesting.

Sennheiser HD 660 S
Hifiman Ananda
Sennheiser HD 600
Focal Clear Professional
Sennheiser HD 6XX
Hifiman Sundara
AKG K702
AKG K712 Pro

Judgments based on the simple listening pleasure they give me or have given me.

I haven't had them all at the same time and some have been a while since I had them, so the ranking is based on my memory and what I remember of each.

I can only say that with the 660S, surprisingly, I've found almost everything I'm looking for and I've stopped buying, selling and trying out new headphones for a few months.
