1. ZMF Auteur: Just awesome, neutral, excellent timbre, tonality and soundstage
2. Audeze LCD 2 (Pre Fazor): Great planar sound, lush
3. Fischer Audio FA 003: My first purchase, for the price an excellent neutral closed back headphone, scales very well with a good amp

That may have something to do with it considering the other phones I own are all a little bass heavy, but that's not the only area that they fall short. Overall they just don't sound good enough to my ears to want to wear them over any of the others. I think I'll sell them soon.
I agree with you about the HD 6XX's lack of bass.

Main reason why i never got into these Sennheisers, my friend has these and i just didn't like the sound, too lifeless for me. But i totally get why they exist, people love them, its just me that has flawed ears that need hard hitting bass. I got a JVC Ésnsy HA-SR85S the other day, let's see how that one will stack up on my list.

For me, different headphones work better for different genres and moods - e.g. from my line up I'd reach for the Neo or iBasso IT0 for laid back listening to EDM/Hip-Hop/Pop.

Agreed, i have a CAL!2 that is almost an all-rounder, but when i catch some metal, i take my Superlux HD660 out of the rack.
The JVC will be used mostly for older rap and EDM where the Aurvana lacks the proper bass i'm looking for (because i'm spoiled by my Bronze 6s and 12 inch AAT subwoofer, i look for that signature on a headphone).

What would you say the difference in sound is between the Classics and Neo? Cheers.

To be honest, I haven't had time to fully A>B them yet but; I only just received them a few days ago, but a quick listen reveals the slightly extended (or deeper) bass response. I figured it was safe to rank them as I did.

A day after receiving the Neos, I received the LCD-2s, so needless to say, they are getting some serious attention. And now I'm tracking a set of LCD-XCs on eBay.

I think I need help!!!!!

I've been looking at a set of Meze 99's or Nighthawk Carbon's and I think I'm gonna go with the latter since I would use them for gaming most often. I bought the LCD2 Classics a few weeks back and they sure are superb. I think the bass is very textured and the general tone is very dynamic. Comfort is also spectacular. LCD X's is the way to go next I think.

I think I'm likely going to sell the Nighthawks. I like them a lot but I just don't use them enough to justify keeping them. And FWIW, my favorite "cheap" pair is AKGs.

I got the 702s for around $70 USD a few years ago. At some point, I will try the 712s.

Going to be buying the Sony MDR Z1R in May as it's the only headphone I don't have that I really want, i'm really looking forward to finally getting it.
In the meantime (ranked in order of favourite):

1. AKG K702 - my favourite open-back headphone. I think the tonality of the K702 is perfect..there just seems to be a perfect balance between bass, mids and treble. It is the only headphone i've heard that I would describe as being true neutral. It is also very detailed, even at low volume levels.
2. Beyerdynamic T70 - This is the headphone that I depend on for most things. It is the second best closed-back headphone I've ever heard.
3. AKG Q701 - The Q701 has noticeably more bass than the K702 and slightly wider soundstage, so it's my headphone of choice for watching movies.
