And if the metal is too loose after the new headband, just put a small dab of aquarium clear silicone on the slot before you push in the headband. The aquarium silicone is usually available in very small tubes for repairs at pet stores for under $3.

Awesome, thanks guys! I'll post pics once I finish making it. It won't be anything too great, but much more comfy!

I haven't done anything drastic with my MS-1s yet.

So far only messing around with padding to get them comfortable on my head.

A yellow senn pads with some old soft cloth pads from a sony headphone that I found in the garage.

Pros.
This greatly increased the sound stage and they are OHHHH so comfy.

Cons.
They lost some of the IN YOUR FACE aspect.

I will do more experimenting with some radio shack pads I got yesterday.

Just the ol' mesh replacement, recable, single sterio plug from the phones and rod lock

I love the cable, what kind is it? and how hard was it to get it inside the headband?

The big cable is just mogami 2534 with some sexy nylon sleeving

. The cable going through the headband is some 22 18 awg wire sleeved in some really thin techflex plastic sleeving. It was actually a hell of a lot easier threading the thicker wire through the headband as opposed to a thin, flimsy wire, the sleeving helps it slide through too

. I guess, it would have been easier to remove the headband first, but I couldn't break the glue holding the metal band in :p

Thats very nice and clean. I am still not comfortable enough to do a re cabling on mine yet. Very afraid of damaging the driver.

Edit: I like the red through the grill it gives it a little somehting.

You might want to put a freer flowing mesh on there. That's the only difference between a 125 and a 225 after all. Any restriction or backpressure on Grado's has an amazing affect on the SQ.
