  Here's a review of the PX100 in Wood cup.......SennGrado.

I'm looking for a new set of drivers...

Amazon.com: Audio-Technica ATH-M20x Professional Headphones: Musical Instruments

Amazon.com: Audio Technica AUD ATHWS55BK Solid Bass Audio Headphones: Electronics

Both state 40mm drivers. What are the odds they share the same drivers?
Any suggestions or recommendations?

If you haven't tried a SennGrado yet, git it a go. The results are remarkably satisfying. This is my latest SennGrado build:

Its a little more fancy than my usual stuff. Most times I simply have a nice wooden Grado-style cup in a Sony MDR7502 headband and normal L-Cush pads...

I have a question in terms of modding an SR-200 or Sr-300.

Let's say I can land an SR-200 with black star drivers, will I have an HP-1000 on my hands if I simply put the drivers in an aluminum housing?

I love the HP-1000, but the going price is $1500 or so, whereas an SR-200 is around $400 to $500. I don't really care for the lettering and stuff, I just want that sound.

But of course, it's still a very pricey decision.

Any thoughts?

So I might have read, in my meandering on the internet, that the SR-200 Blackstars were drivers left over by Joseph after he did his HP1000. The implication was that he had rejected them/they were B-stock. I am not 100% sure though, as I also read the B-stock were used in a second and third run on the HP series (HP 2 and HP 3)...so who knows for sure :)

I reckon its worth a shot though if you don't want to pony up the $1500.

There was a guy selling aluminum inserts for Grado cups in the forums for $35.
