I find that classy sounding is a better word for it

Wow 2 weeks since the last post, did we reach some sort of technical limit?
I've been following this thread off and on for a long time. I remember reading the entire thing when it was about half its current size.
I recently acquired a pair of HP-1's and am itching to get to modding. I want to ask if there is a consensus on what the best mods are? Have been enjoying my YH-2's for a couple years now and only have vague memories of what I did. I do know it involved replacing the foam and using a felt donut to damp the driver. However, I would have to open them up again to see if I left in the reflex dot or not. That being said, I know the HP-1's may deserve a different strategy.
Don't really want to go back and read through the entire thing again. And, before it comes up I have used the search function without coming up with a definitive place to start. My take is that mod paths usually evolve as more people experiment and after using the search function I am left with a lot of disparate posts, but no single guidepost.
I too am looking for information.
So far what I've found is that the felt-paper-felt damping configuration works best for the YH-1. It's just like it sounds; 2 circles of felt sandwiched with a circle of paper in the middle.
If this is wrong or someone has something better, feel free to jump on in and correct me.
As far as this thread being dead for a while, guess what I found...
NOS. They're on their way right now. Excited.
DIY Replica/ prototype maybe hmmmm....

Pictures of the inside later? Perhaps an entry in the wikiphonia?
No, if you repair them properly, they are not bass light. This is an unfortunate reputation they have got from people who have tried them with ruined ear pads.

Considering most of the stock pads go to fabric by the time folks here get to them, that's a great point I never thought of. Had always assumed folks would fix the pads before anything but that's my thinking not everyone else's. This would include much of B&O U70 impressions also ( housing issues aside ). Only bass light ones I can recall that are similar are the Hok's, but are they %100 an actual PMB driver not sure/ do not recall.
