So in the Max Refined List, I see that you guys have the Shure 846 iem so I got confused.  Is Max Refined List still gear toward "Bass" iem? Cause I know the Shure 846 is not a Bass iem, more like mid+ high?

I believe it is purely in terms of refinement and not quantity. You'll find even though the 2.5 is a very refined bass IEM it's at the bottom of the list. the Sony Z5 which HBB mentioned he personally hates is high on the list, probably because it does have refined bass. It might not be a lot of bass but it might be very refined.

You have to have the ability to separate bass impact from bass refinement in your brain.

It is a bass IEM.

If you are looking for a more detailed sounding but still bassy IEM, check out HBB's "max-refined" list.

The 846 does not come close in terms of bass presence/impact than the others on the list.

Really enjoying the Future Sonics Spectrum G10 after a full day of listening. They isolate very well and have epic depth.

No grain, super smooth treble. A touch dark, but I ain't afraid of the darkness.

I'm going to get the silicone custom shell for extra isolation.

The previous owner didn't fully burn them in. I'll put them through the EQ paces after burning them in this weekend.

They have as much impact as I've ever heard from a 10mm driver.

Just a great liquid sound to them.

can't beat the price, either, at $220

how do they compare to the xb90ex or 7550 for balance, detail and yet good bass?

always fun to try new things.  the new dunu 2002 look interesting too, when they're finally released in another month or so.
