I was thinking the same thing. If there are 2, 3 or more questions in quick succession many can go unanswered as is the case.
 
Most people I fear tend to look at the last 1 or 2 questions only and then move on to another thread.
 
I had a couple of extra questions to ask but after only one brief reply to my last one (before it was swamped by new one's) I didn't bother.

I don't really mind what size for headphones, be it CIEM/IEM, Full (on or off), I sort of would like IEM's and I almost pulled the trigger on triple fi's and used some extra for new cables for clarity/midrange sake and/or custom remold but I'm not sure if they'll be better than the m-80 or what, I would like the extra portability that iem's offer but I would love some great audio without exploding my wallet on a UM Miracle haha. I want them to be very comfortable too since the m-80 sometimes starts to kill me after  4-5 hours. Also, Im not a huge bass head that needs that hip hop thump.
 
But I would definitely also like amp/dac suggestions too. But with the m-80s being really my only functioning headphone at the moment I don't necessarily need an amp; however, it would be nice to have an amp with inputs like the maverick d1 where I can have different sources like my ps3, pc, etc, but I also like the idea of having crossfeeding to get a more speaker-like sound (neither are a deal maker or breaker).
 
I listen to many genres but I mainly listen to rock, prog metal, blues, instrumental, prog jazz and classical. Some examples of my favorites are are Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, Paul Gilbert, SRV, victor Wooten, Marcus miller, Blues Bros and associated acts.
 
For a little more background I have a biosciencegeek cmoy amp, nothing special but it does its job so if a small headphone needs some amp-age then I at least have the cmoy. Most of my music is only in the 224-320kbits range with some 192kbits sadly so I'm not sure if getting into say a q701 + an amp will change much if I dont get all 320 or flac. But I'm still new to the audiophile scene so I have much to learn so I may be spouting nonsense. (I'm much better at audio equipment related to guitar gear lol)
 
Some headphones I was looking at but am completely unsure about- Q701, Beyer Dt880, Gr07, Tf10, ClearTune ct200, as for amps possibly an Objective2?
 
Maybe I'll wait to hear about the senn amperior or v-moda m-100

I'm leading towards the HD600s, but I'm not entirely sure if that's going to really "match" my music genres. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey guys, me again. I looked into the grado sr80i's, and quickly realized they were the best audio quality wise headphones for $100, but the problem is, I didn't realize that everyone could hear it.
 
Basically now I'm looking for good headphones that I can pick up for $100, or less. Preferably less.  They can be used or new, and it doesn't matter whether or not they are in-ear or over-ear, but please not open-ear just because I don't want everyone hearing my music (unless I'm mistaken about them projecting the sound to everyone).

It's kind of unclear, to be honest, since measurements differ a lot between manufacturers. Disregard that then.
Regardless, the D2000s tend to be more forgiving of the source, so I would get those.

Oh and I'm guessing all of those are closed headphones - I need them closed so I don't bother other people who are studying when I'm listening to them. Feel free to suggest something even better around the price range less than ~100-170

This is all with the E9/E7 or E9/17 amp/dac with all genres.  This is gonna be the last bit of researching I need to decide whether I should get the HD600 over the 650s cause I don't wanna pay $500 for the 650s when I could've gotten them for $350 a month ago.  I need you guys to help convince me to get the HD600 over the HD650s cause this decision to buy the HD600 now or wait for a price drop on the 650 is killing me right now!  I never own any good headphones before btw.

Hi there! I'm looking forward to upgrading from a pair of DT990 Premium 250ohm, I'm looking for a headphone with good bass presence just like the DT990 but with much more impact and definition in the same price range, because the DT990's bass impact is kinda light to me (somebody previously used the analogy of being hitted by a huge balloon). Do you have any suggestion? I'm looking at the HD598 with some hesitation because it's only 50ohm...

Ignore the "headphone impedance range" spec, it is only marketing, just like the frequency response specified by the manufacturer for headphones. The fact that the output voltage of the Audio 4 DJ halves with a 100Ω load suggests that it has 100Ω output impedance, which is not great for the AH-D2000. You want the output impedance to be clearly lower (preferably by a factor of 8 or more if possible, but at least 2-3) than that of the headphone. It would output about 15.4 mW to the Denon, and about 11.7 mW to the DT990, which is not too much but maybe enough (you will have to use high volume settings with the DT990) if you do not need particularly high volume or dynamic range.
For the E9, the 2 Vrms is not relevant, it is a line output level. The headphone output is actually about 7 Vrms max. through 10Ω output impedance if you use the 1/4" jack, or 43Ω output impedance if you use the 1/8" jack. Therefore, the E9 is a much more powerful source. In case you intend to upgrade the Audio 4 DJ to a Xonar Essence ST or STX, note that these have a built-in headphone amplifier that matches the maximum power and output impedance of the E9.

What concerns me about sr80i is the comfort, I'm reading different opinions about it and I can't get a clear idea and since I'll be using them at home this for me is quite important (ofc I can't try them on anywhere).
I've to say that I'm from Italy and sr80i here are quite expensive, cheapest option is to get them from amazon uk for about 130€ shipped but I've found a guy selling them for less then 100€ shipped (he has used them once and then put them back in the box, they come with warranty )

I was looking at the Sennheiser HD558 and at the Audio technica ath ad700, are these any good? what are other similar option from another brand?.
