I'm thinking of just getting DT880/600s however is there anything in the $600 and under range that is similar to the 880s but noticeably better? I get a feeling there really isn't but figured I'd ask.
anyone? =)
Similar to DT880 but slightly less extension both ends, but much better mids = HD600. You lose a tiny bit of detail but gain better balance and much better imagery IMO.
Still detailed with a nice soundstage - but just a really great tone. I had both - DT880 250 ohm and the HD600. Kept the HD600 - haven't regretted it. Is more of a move sideways than upgrade (slightly different tone overall) - but the money you save could go towards a nice amp or amp/dac if you don't have one.
