Right, but the AD700 is butt-ugly and from what I read has bad mids and bass.
Just so you know I have no speaker system so I need a good all-arounder.. 598's seem to be the best. Plus they look SEXY.

At the moment, i have Sennheiser PC-350 headphones plugged to Asus Xonar DG souncard/amplifier. I mostly enjoy music such as this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvTe1-a6Pdo have to link it since i have no idea what do you call that type of music. Ambient i guess.

I have been thinking of buying Sennheiser HD 598 for so long. But i have no idea, if 598 is sensible upgrade after PC-350? Are those 2 almost at par, and will i even hear the difference if i buy HD 598? Are 598 good for that musicstyle i mentioned? Or are there phones even better for that style?

Buy the 598s. Seriously. You love the look and they sound excellent. As long as you're cool with an open can, you won't need another headphone until the HE 500.

The 598 works very well with music like that. Electronic music without pounding baselines is probably ideal for them actually. They don't lack bass, but it's not at the forefront either. Music like that is very mid friendly, and the 598 has the best mids under 900 that I've heard.

PS: Feel like a fanboy for the HD 598...and I guess I kind of am.

I don't have experience with any of these except the Pro DJ 100, but I will say that it's an amazing headphone. Highly recommended. It needs an amp though to sound its best.

Can someone else PLEASE comment on Ath M50's sound isolation; how would they hold up in a live djing/loud environment with there sound isolation?

I answered you earlier... but to reiterate: they'll be fine, though there are better options out there. Getting some spare Shure 840 pads will offer better isolation and comfort (and it's not a bad idea to have spare pads anyways).

I should be the same as the K240... I think the K241 and 242 numbering is just a regional/country thing.

How would they(shure 840) perform comfortwise against the A700? I've read some complaints about comfort with the shure's

Armaegis was talking about using the Shure 840 pads on the M50.  The 840 pads are very soft - one of the most comfortable I've used.

Comparing the A700 directly with the Shure 840 (comparing the two cans) - the A700 is definitely more comfortable because of it's design.  SQ wise, I much preferred the Shures.  And FTR I found the Shures supremely comfortable - just a little heavy.  The problem is that with the 840's most people either love or hate the comfort.  You're best to try them first if you are considering the 840's.

The Audio Technica wing system is super comfortable, though not very stable. I would say any of them are easily more comfortable than the Shures.

The Shure pads are very soft and provide good isolation. The gripe with the 840 is the lousy headband. It's huge and heavy and has a stupid unnecessary rubber chunk in it, which is also somewhat flat and places a lot of pressure on the top of your head. If you have a wider head that contours just right, it's quite comfortable. If not, you get all that weight on the top which is very uncomfortable.

Hi all. thanks in advance for your help, you guys have a great thing going!

I'm looking for closed, around the ear headphones, $100 or less, that have decent base and isolation is important. I'd also like them to be comfortable (crown is about average circumference).

I listen to dubsteb, classical, rap, blues, rock, and would like the headphones to improve my gaming experience (surround sound ideal but not necessary or even likely at my price point).

What do you recommend? Thanks very much!

edit: ive been looking at the Sennheiser hd428s, if that helps.

That is an awful price... it's around $30 off Amazon US. Can you order it online and have it shipped to you?

I live in Brasil too.
Do you want to hear an awful price?
What about US$ 160 for an HD201?
That's why i don't buy phones here @ home.
Unfortunatly, i amazon denies shipping of anything but books and cds to Brasil.

I was looking @ ebay for the 840, but i don't know if it's safe to buy on ebay, never tried.
