AKG K 701 with Zune HD - Would I need an amp?

Hey Head-Fi, i'm new here! I've recently ordered a pair of the AKG 701s after my Creative Aurvana Live! broke. I'm wondering if the Zune HD can power the 701s enough to listen, or if I should purchase a portable amp. I've been thinking about getting the FiiO E11, but i'd like some opinions.

    Creative Aurvana Live! for $70

Creative Aurvana Live! Headphones - 51EF0060AA002 - Buy.com I have these and I can safely say that for $70, this is a good buy. Well rounded, a little bit on the bassy side, fairly isolating, but not extremely portable. Kind of like the Triport AE in form/function, but it actually sounds good.

Help me decide what would be a good upgrade from HD203, and HA-RX700

I've been pulling my hair out lately, trying to find the perfect cans. I just bought the Koss PRO DJ100's from BestBuy, and the Creative Aurvana Live's from Amazon (they're on sale for $60). Neither do what i was hoping they would do for me.   After hearing the Klipsch Image Ones at Best...

Audiophile, yet portable-ish headphones for under 250$

Hello everybody!   I'm thinking of buying some new headphones and I need your help. I've been using Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones for over 3 years now, but since I'm not longer DJing, these headphones no longer suit me, since they overemphasize the bass, also, they are quite cheaply built...

Recommendation for headphones under 100 for metal music

I currently have the razer carcharias and while it's one of the most comfortable headset i've ever had, i'd like to upgrade to some "real" music headphones and not a new gaming one. My budget is up to 100 but i'll go a bit above if it is truly worth it. I also want the headphones to be...

    Great headphones for under $100?

Headphones Under $100   I've been looking around for quite some time for a good pair of headphones that is somewhat portable.   I ended up thinking on buying a Sennheiser PX 200-II, but then I started to think otherwise. I was starting to lean over on Superlux HD681 or the Samson SR850...

JVCHAS-700 vs. AKG K 81 DJ vs. Creative Aurvana Live!

I'm looking for new headphones around this price range. Saw these 3 and am interested in all of them, mainly the JVC's because they look nice and are also so much cheaper than the other options. Bang for my buck here is key: are the JVC's the best choice or are there better choices around...

Looking for closed cans that offer "fun" sound

Hey guys,      I already created a thread before saying that I purchased the MDR7506 headphones from Sony and returned them a week later. The reason was the audio felt dead. There was very little bass, the sound stage was horrible, and the highs felt sharp. All of this made my ears fatigue...

Best over ear headphones for around $25-$30, for an Iphone?

My sister needs some headphones for her Iphone (music), I gave her some used CALs (Creative Aurvana live), but it seems some previous owner had gotten perfume or cologne on them which she is allergic to, so I would like to replace them with some headphones in the $25-$30 range, any ideas?

    Creative Aurvana Live! noise isolation

I ordered a pair of these headphones from Amazon for $60 bucks, and I have a few questions. I've heard members on this site say the isolation isn't so good, how bad is it? I go to a university and plan on walking with it around campus; in addition, I plan on traveling to New York City, and I...

Buying new headphones as a gift. Help? Recommendations?

Hi, I'm new(ish) to the world of headphones and such. I've always loved audio and working with it (I do a bit of simple recording with a small 8 input mixer, audio interface and mixing software) but I've never REALLY got into headphones or speakers. So, a while ago, my girlfriend bought some...

Denon 1001's vs. Creative Aurvana live

I hear the Creative are a Denon clone, but how similar are they really? I'm looking for a portable closed back can and HD25s & 1001s are top of list. Should I consider the Creatives? Or continue to be a brand whore?
