Pros: Fun V-shaped sound signature, build quality, comfort, accessories, great cable, sparks of technical proficiency
Cons: Slightly bigger shells for a 3 driver IEM, polarizing sound signature, the hotter treble section can make the ESR fatiguing to listen to (rectified with foam tips), slight metallic tonality in some songs

One of the best surprise this year!

baskingshark

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Very generously accessorized
Ergonomic fit
Beautiful mirror-like housings, solidly built
Easily driven
Above average technicalities
Boosted treble would be a kindred spirit for trebleheads
Cons: Shells are fingerprint and scratch magnets
Thin note weight with nasal vocals
Overly recessed lower midrange
Possibly fatiguing in the upper frequencies, not for treble-sensitive folk

The cable is its downside are adversely effects the bass levels.

Scubadevils

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: > Extends beautifully from the lowest DD sub-bass to the highest EST visceral treble
> Large soundstage with wonderful layering and pinpoint imaging
> A strong proposition from an overall tuning perspective that sits way below the kilobuck sets from a price standpoint, but competes rather well
> Handmade in Poland and comes with 2-year warranty
Cons: > Upper energy can get a bit hot at times, caution advised for some genres (also mitigated with warmer sources or R2R, my best results with the Hiby RS8)
> The shells have long nozzles which might be uncomfortable for some
> They need decent power to shine, not the easiest to drive

500+ Head-Fier
Pros: - Clean, neutral and natural sound with a very smooth and pleasant music approach
- Technicalities are no slouch for a TWS in the sub-100$ price bracket
- Commands are easy to learn and respond very quickly (sometimes, even too quickly)
- LDAC codec is very nice to have
- Battery life is good also when using ANC and LDAC together
- The earpieces are well built despite the cheap materials
- Price is spot-on considering the competition
Cons: - The low-end lacks some proper punch and body, which will probably bore someone
- The stock tips aren’t great and using aftermarket tips improves the overall experience
- The active noise cancellation, the transparency mode and the microphone quality still have plenty of room for improvements
- Materials feels kinda cheap even though the earpieces are well built
- The Moondrop Link 2.0 still has some imperfections and translation issues
- Could have been priced a bit lower to be more aggressive, especially considering the subpar microphone and ANC

Introduction

Moondrop is well known in the audio gear community and for a good reason: they usually provide good value products and nice tunings.

Jason Stoddard mentions this in his announcement. But in short tubes were designed to operate "better" using higher voltages. Often hundreds of volts.
Back in electrical technology classes in college we put together circuits that used tubes. Part of the design process was to look at a tubes design characteristics that the tube engineers built a tube to operate "at". Using graphs and drawing "load" lines and choosing optimal operating voltages so the tube when amplifying would not clip and distort as signals were amplified. Higher voltages allows the tube to operate more linear. Hope this helps.

Just got a ECC 82 adapter to try 12AU7A's in the Vali 3. It works just fine and IMO it beats the stock 6N3P by a wide margin. Clearer, more transparent, crisp etc...JJ ECC88 was the tube tested. Excellent results.

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Shells are 6 grams a piece and on the smaller side of medium
First mainstream tuning here, different from the 3 other TSMR IEM products I have heard
Middle of the road tonality, showcasing a balance of even/complete and correct ideas
Totally detailed bass from 2X 8mm DDs in action
Full-on mids from selected Knowles BAs X2
Careful yet complete treble, due to the choice Sonion BA drivers X2
A seventh CFRD (Custom Film Retardation Driver) adds airflow and resonate abilities
Fun and careful like dating a librarian, yet provocative and sexy (like) when she lets down her hair
Somehow every aspect of BA timbre is addressed, meaning BA timbre is only slight
Tuning DIP-switches add a choice of bass replay
This is TSMR's commemorative 10th Anniversary Edition, won't you join in the fun?
Cons: On the verge of too small a nozzle, which I overcame with a longer ear-tip

You state. Specialist cable, allowing for a style of bass control and clarity through diminishment of the lower midrange, clearing the path for vocals to emerge... Is this the main mechanism that cables can alter the perception of the sound in you opinion? Got a link to any cable comparisons you have done/
Redcarmoose
Redcarmoose
@David Haworth,
Well, the cable change can do a number of things.

And not specific to the X....................
We are all looking for either a style of balance with an un-balanced IEM. Or maybe looking for a wider stage.........it can be so many things, maybe someone wants a diminished bass response. So a more expensive cable doesn’t always work as maybe the two personalities of IEM and Cable don’t mix, or you don’t get what you are after? Changing the vocal placement and texture could be one advantage.

My cable comparisons are throughout most of the reviews I write, I couldn't possibly put them into one place..........I'm too busy writing the next review. Good idea though.

Pros: - Fun, bassy signature (subjective)
- Bass-centric sound for pop and EDM genres.
- Thick, smooth, overall bass response.
- Rumbly, big bass response.
- Smooth, thick mids.
- Non-harsh upper frequencies.
- Sound quality scales with additional power/volume.
- Very good fit, comfort, and isolation (for medium-large sized ears).
- Eye-candy IEM appearance.
- Eye-candy packaging!
Cons: - Heavy midbass bleed that drowns/veils vocals and details significantly.
- Bass is nearly monotonous.
- Bass is boomy and sloppy in character.
- Treble is borderline dark.
- Treble lacks air.
- Technical performance is affected significantly, particularly on separation.
- Needs a bit more volume/power than usual to sound good.
- Accessories are quite underwhelming for its asking price in terms of quantity and quality.

Pros: • Balanced Harman sound with a touch of brightness but still smoother and non-sibilant compared to the original EA500
• Lively and musical
• Non-offensive, easy to like and appeals to most tuning for the non-treble sensitive
• Impressive technicalities (width and separation) at this price point
• Nice quality glossy, durable build
Cons: • Fingerprint magnet
• Might not be for the treble sensitive but I still consider this tolerable than most
• Minimal need for the tuning nozzles. Default nozzle (gold) sounds the safest for the majority

Pros: Decent accessories
Beautiful aesthetics
Comfortable ergonomics
Easy to drive
Warm, pleasant and non-fatiguing
Thick note weight, lush "musical" sonics
Non-shouty upper midrange

Cons: Fussy with source pairing due to low impedance
Not for trebleheads due to a treble roll-off

Cons: Treble can be a little much

Pros: -The HeyGears build is fantastic in my opinion
-I love the understated and clean design aesthetic
-Great unboxing
-That cable is one of the best in the price point that I’ve seen
-Very nice warm and rich, non-offensive sound across the mix
-Nice lean-lush note weight and good density

-Deep sub-bass extension
-Forward and clean midrange with lush vocals and good clarity, beautiful
-Treble is relaxed but not mundane, there’s solid energy
-Soundstage
-I hear good layering of instruments and voices
Cons: -Build is not going to be to everyone’s taste

-Separation is sometimes not perfect

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: A true TOTL fun-allrounder set…
…worth saving or skipping some other purchases to put your hands on this secret weapon.
Professionally tuned IEMs by a musician and a skilled engineer.
Easy to drive, and…
…presenting an astonishing ability to scale up within a high-quality source.
Liquid and intoxicating sound, music flows in a sovereign effortlessness manner.
The CP54e bury the misleading definition of “BA-bass”, once for all.
Wide yet not unrealistic soundstage.
Stunning vocal and overall mids performance, even considering the slightly elevated bass.
Higher frequencies are flawlessly tuned. Air, detail retrieval, extension, and absence of unwelcomed spice in your sound.
Great built quality and superb work on the faceplate design.
Excellent package overall, with a decent stock cable and a suitable set of eartips.
Fit like CIEM into my ears.
Cons: Elevated bass for neutral sound aficionados.
Not the very last word in terms of sound depth and height.
I would have preferred open bores instead of a grill on the nozzle.

@Yarblockos The CP54e is not a true basshead set. I still own the FatFreq Mini, never listened to the SE, though. What I can say is that the CP54e is giving you hard-hitting bass when the track calls for it and greatly textured bass no matter when. Myself being a bass addict, while not as extreme as it used to be, the CP54e offer a fantastic balanced sound with a bass-twist, which can content many of us. If the bass prevails above everything for you, then the CP54e are not the ones you are looking for.
R
RazorItoh
@Jacobal I owned both Ronin and these. Imo these were better for me. The ronin's I felt were a bit boring. Nothing sticks out. It's an alright "do everything" kinda iem. At that price the RN6 or 622B do that role much better while each being special.

For KZ AS24 in In-Ear
Pros: One of the best resolution under €300-400.
Compete on technicalities against the legendary planars.
Attractive sound.
Good balance between musical and detailed sound.
Truly wide and deep scene
Attractive voices
Cons: They are very big.
This technical power lacks more refinement
It lacks a little more impact in the bass.
It is not the most suitable for long listening
Its sound may not satisfy an audience looking for an all-rounder.

Tried mine out a little last night… I got the one with switches and so far I need the bass turned all the way up. I see what you mean about it not being the best for EDM… the bass lines are not very impactful. The Symphony would be better for that but again, I got the AS24 because the Symphony has too much bass for some songs, particularly songs with kick drums. The AS24 seems to have better, more dynamic vocals though… so far I’m not sure I’ve found a new KZ at that I think is a true all-rounder but I need to keep testing the AS24 before I write a review.

Pros: "Relatively" natural tone
Sound focused on music
Romantic voices
Nuanced, romantic and sweet bass, midrange and treble
Soundstage of an open - back headphone with great soundstage
It is excessively comfortable
It is possibly the best quality-price option (€140 now) to enjoy music.
Cons: Too warm sometimes
It is not the most coherent and neutral sound

Huge design
They are not very pretty (something completely subjective)
