Heyy. joneeboi caught me at the mall yesterday and reminded me about this I can most likely make it. Still have the HD-600s and KSC-75's, but also got ER4-P/S's earlier this year. The Ety's are pretty sweet (with a bit of equalization). I'll bring extra clean tips + rubbing alcohol so...- eric.w

Edmonton Meet #3 Oct. 27, 07 impressions
It was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who came especially joneeboi for organizing it. Too bad about the turntables not working, hopefully next time we can listen to some vinyl (made me want to get/build a phono amp and play some records) The only careful comparison I did was devin_mm's...- eric.w

Hey. Sorry for taking forever to reply to this.. but I can most likely come . I will bring my senn. hd-600 + ipod nano (1st gen 4GB), and I'll probably not bother with my amp as it's a pain to haul around. I could bring some records too if there are going to be turntables. Sounds like this...- eric.w

Edmonton mini-meet? - May 26, 2007
Hey, So it's May 12? I can probably come. I'd like it to be at the university as well. There has to be some quiet corner with tables we can use on a summer saturday evening.. I'd bring my HD-600, ipod nano, possibly an amplifier. (I don't think I'm lugging that beast power supply I brought...- eric.w

Nov 18/06 Edmonton-And-Surrounding-Urbanities meet impressions!
I had a great time, it was cool to meet everyone. I didn't really do much serious comparison between headphones, but I liked the AKG K701's (and the look and feel of them too!) The KSC-75's were really amazing for the size and price; if I feel like getting some portable headphones I'll...- eric.w

good video game sound tracks?
The Dig Full Throttle Day of the Tentacle Monkey Island (1,2,3) (Someone likes LucasArts adventures ) Ultima VII Final Fantasy VII I also really liked the music in Half-life and Half-life 2, even though there's not too much. -

Sweet! Sub should be a great spot. Good job on getting it all worked out last minute, I know it must have been a pain. I'd be up for joining a student group, too.- eric.w

Argh, that's a pain. Maybe the Strathcona branch? The Program room is free at 5pm saturday. Only thing is, the booking website isn't really clear if all branches allow you to book rooms after hours (strathcona closes at 5:30.) Well, I'm sure we'll find something.- eric.w

Hey, just came across this thread - sounds sweet! I'd love to come, unless something comes up at the last minute. edit: hm.. thinking it over again, a weekend date would be a lot better for me too. HD570 broken channel? (help!)
Had any luck getting your cable? I'm stuck in the same situation; my home made cable for my hd-600's just broke (after the original 600 cable breaking), so I'm buying a sennheiser 650 cable - but I can't find one for a reasonable price from anywhere that will ship to canada. (But I haven't tried...- eric.w

HD600 or 650 with iPod and unamped sources?
Awesome; you'll love the HD600s In my opinion, forget what they are "supposed" to sound like out on your ipod, load on some of your favourite tracks (using high-bitrate, I guess) and see how it compares with your home player and amp. Mine sounded fine out of an ipod when I tried it for a...- eric.w

How can this be true????
I've been thinking about a hypothetical headphone (/speaker/other audio gear) review site where you first tell it what gear you have heard, what your subjective ratings (various aspects of sound quality, value, etc.) of each piece of gear are, and then it uses an algorithim to predict what...- eric.w

Computer Experts: Need Second Opinion
As far as I know, any program which tests your graphics card will stree the cpu to some extent, so you can't really test the graphics card on it's own. If your ram's okay, next step is to see if the system can handle several hours of Prime95's torture test with no errors.- eric.w

I accidentally deleted my songs from computer... can anyone help?
I once deleted some important files by accident, and I can relate with what a pain it can be. If you emptied the recycle bin by accident, here's a little freeware gem that actually recovers files, if possible, unlike the countless trial programs that a google search tends to turn up...- eric.w

building a bookshelf speaker-mb20
If it's any help, here's an article I remember reading a while ago on getting a mirror finish. It's for painting computer cases, but I'm sure the same idea would work on speakers. The website is gone so here's a link to internet archive (so the images take forever to load, but it's better than...- eric.w

For students: your studying music!
calculus + wish you were here / dark side of the moon I love the dreamy quality of those Pink Floyd albums for doing homework. Sadly, I do find music to be distracting in many cases as well. Try listening to rap while reading poetry -
add bass boost to opamp configured as buffer?
Hi, I was wondering it would be possible to do this. The amp in question is http://www.fa-schmidt.de/YAHA/, which I've already built. I'm using an OPA2132. So from what I can understand, if I added the PPA style bass boost of a capacitor and resistor in parallel between the opamp's output...- eric.w
