[2021 Update] Venture Electronics (VE) Monk V2, Monk Plus & Monk Go: a $5 earbud that taking the world by storm!!!

I just joined the family! Got my VE monk plus today, didn't even think twice, it's like $8. So far pretty impressed, this is an earbud but it has bass and the details are pretty good.    The best thing about this earbud is the fact that it is an earbud, you know how IEM has this seal and it's...

Creative Sound Blaster X7 - Detailed Review & Impressions

Afaik, x7 will cost a lot already, and if schiit stack will cost more, why not try the chord mojo? A lot of people said it is the best

Creative Sound Blaster X7 - Detailed Review & Impressions

Anyone got an idea on mic volume of x7? I am talking about both the built in and the input on the front, it's so very tiny. The mic boost option on the sb control panel is greyed out and the same happened in windows audio setting (mic boost option ticked, but no slider whatsoever)

Creative Sound Blaster X7 - Detailed Review & Impressions

That's static noise, common occurence for any analog audio circuit that runs near electric component. Static noise is one of the reasons why people prefer external sound card, so yes, x7 will get rid of that sound.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

The one best way to know it is to audition it yourself, you'll be most happy with the sound that way Lcd 2 is very2 expensive (at least in my country), and some people do think that the extra performance does worth the price. It is getting more subjective the nearer you're to the summit

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I believe it's not clamping problem that you are annoyed by? If so bending won't help anything Now, i know really well how the weight change from 598 to x2 can be very noticeable, i came from 558 myself. But honestly, that's just the way it is. X2 is considered pretty light, most high end...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I think it's you who hasn't read enough review lol, x2 is bassy but it's not closed can level, and if you want the best bass, only planar magnetic can deliver that. A lot of reviews touch on this subject, but this hobby is pretty subjective, so it might be your taste.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

No way lol, you'll notice it after sometime with x2, i also came from 558 and after X2 most open headphones will sound thin in comparison But if you expect some hard hitting bass you should not be looking at open headphone in the first place, go closed or semi open

Oh? Never heard this thing before, what i know is 100% out of an app is always the best since it will not try to compress anything. Enlighten me please?

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

If you want the best sound stage/positioning (especially for competitive gaming) go for audio technica ath ad700, akg k702, or senheisser hd800. X2 can not beat those in terms of staging. If want some fun more immersive experience X2 is good

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I also came from hd558, and i have to agree that x2 is like the better version of hd558 Well, i need to burn about 20 hours-ish before the sound kinda "break-in", you might consider that. Also stx has high output impedance, afaik that will affect the bass. Regarding channel imbalance...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I'd take daemon advice for the itchy pad problem, just to make sure you get rid of any excess chemicals on the pad and soften it. Most of us doesn't have problem though, so it might be your skin

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Wow, some professionals need to take measurement for the old and new one. This kind of discrepancy is really bad for business (the second hand woox pair will shot up though!)

Creative Sound Blaster X7 - Detailed Review & Impressions

You just answered yourself, the size lol Yeah a receiver would be nice, but then again i mainly use this on desktop with headphones while using sbx for gaming, receiver is not geared toward that.

Creative Sound Blaster X7 - Detailed Review & Impressions

Your post is so long and definitely not simple lol, i hope i get this right. So you want to use your soundbar with your pc and tv. When you realize you need a receiver you opt for x7, right? I think it should go like Computer--> usb--> x7--> optical out--> soundbar While connecting the tv to...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

In what way is it an upgrade? Afaik the glue just make the pad harder to remove, unnecessary harder to be honest.   If they only change the pad without changing the sound then it's a fair game, honestly no one will notice and even if they have both the "old" and the "new" when they sound the...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Because the pad is supposed to be removable, though technically you can still remove it even with the glue, the earlier batch (mine) can do it without the glue. And no, i don't see any problem on my x2 after one year Of course people will complain, if the "glue" change who knows what else might...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

    - the impedance on e5 is 2.2 ohm, not the best but good enough - yes it does surround, sbx though not dolby headphone - yes you can plug your speaker to e5 line out - and no e5 doesn't do DD encoding, will it passthrough bit stream dolby? I don't know for sure, maybe some people will answer that...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Some people actually like accentuated high, as far as i know audioquest dragonfly is one of the best in that price range, audioengine, from some reviews i read, got good score but nothing to write home about. I suggest you go to the respective threads and ask there, try to read posting...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Well, the E5 is the hardest of the bunch to set up since it needs software while others are plug and play. And what's best... it depends really... what are you looking for? as far as distortion i think most of those are good enough

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I know it's not haha, and that's why i've been telling myself so hard "DO NOT audition Mojo" when it's right in front of me to audition. I just can not justify the cost as of yet, and technology will always move forward one day we'll get something better or cheaper :)
