as always, fantastic review mate! cheers.

Well, not really a review, more like a summary and re-post of what I have mentioned already in the post above: http://www.head-fi.org/t/783669/venture-electronics-ve-monk-monk-plus-a-5-earbud-that-taking-the-world-by-storm/5145#post_12786727

I just wanted to add it to my blog where I also linked it to my Monk+/Asura2/Zen2 reviews.  Still amazed that Monk+ balanced is $5 and every adapter $5.  Gotta spread the word

I just joined the family! Got my VE monk plus today, didn't even think twice, it's like $8. So far pretty impressed, this is an earbud but it has bass and the details are pretty good.

The best thing about this earbud is the fact that it is an earbud, you know how IEM has this seal and it's kinda uncomfortable (especially if you are chewing something or when you're trying to sing along lol). VE monk is comfy, i use this at home when i don't feel like putting headphone.

I bought two pairs that I am eagerly waiting to get, but I am regretting not getting four or five pairs. They say patience is a virtue. Unfortunately for me, impatience is my virtue.

I bought a pair of Monk+ and immediately ordered three more, I think they are great. But then I bought the TY Hi-Z HP32 which look and cost similar, and wow! Real bass! I ordered three more...

Which one do you prefer?

I don't want to derail the thread, but the Hi-Z. OOTB some people might not like the pronounced v-shaped signature, however, I use EQ to suit my tastes so this is not an issue for me. Overall the increased bass and better soundstage (wider, with depth) do it for me.

i prefer monk > 32 > monk+

By '32' do you mean the Hi-Z?

I've never listened to the original Monk, I'd like to get a set if they become available again.
