My Sharp HP-MD33 mod
the double-mod saved my EP-630 (which I modded in the same way as the MD33) today when I forgot to take them out of my jeans before doing the laundry... no damage to the driver, the cotton wool took all the water- loco26

Ordered some MD33's, now i need some good cheap phones for home.
hm, what about the Sennheiser PX-100? I think they sound quite a bit better than the MD33, while giving you a rather similar kind of sound balance-wise.- loco26

Why Future Sonics EM3 not popular around here?
the EM3 were the biggest earphone disappointment by far for me. IMO their sound is nowhere near balanced... bass&highs are there and ok, but where are the mids? I have to admit that my EM3 had no burn-in at all because I sent them back early. but I personally think that it should'nt be necessary...- loco26

Sharp HP-MD33S: odd cable?
jacobweber, if you want to get rid of the annoying cable, go for the Creative-version of the MD33s, named EP-630. it has a normal stereo-plug and the cable length should also be perfectly fine. and FYI, the EP630 don't have this "behind-the-neck" cable design.- loco26

Future Sonics EM3 Vs. Etys er6i
good point warpdriver. especially with the return policy. the best thing about my EM3-adventure was the fact that I could get my money back.- loco26

advice for a rookie
heatbball, I guess it would be helpful if you'd describe what you like about the EX51's sound and in which point you think that another pair could do better. it's very difficult to recommend anything before you explain that a little more.- loco26

md33 vs ex81
I don't know 'bout the EX81 as I have never listened to them. hopefully somebody else here can! but I own both PX100 und MD33, and their sound signature doesn't differ that much IMO. so if you are looking for a pair of canalphones that can - at least nearly - come up with similar sound as...- loco26

Cord design of Sennheiser IE4?
I recently got the Creative EP-630 and like them soundwise, but I'm really disappointed with the cord design, as I prefer the "MD33-behind-the-neck" style much more. Has anyone yet grabbed some IE4 and can tell me for sure about what their cord is like? From the photos I have seen, I would...- loco26

MD-33/IE4/EP-630
so I finally got the EP-630 today, and as DigDub said, there is no difference between them and the MD33 aside from cable length and thickness (the EP-630's cable is thinner and looks a bit unstable to me - first impression wise). my only advice is: get them, if you can!- loco26
