if size isnt an issue, can i get something with better sound than the md33's for around 30$? how would the ksc75's compare to the md33's in terms of sound quality? what about koss porta pros? what other phones are good and in this price range? thanks in advance

hm, what about the Sennheiser PX-100? I think they sound quite a bit better than the MD33, while giving you a rather similar kind of sound balance-wise.

I've heard good things about the Portapros. I actually saw my first pair on bus. They don't look as bad as I thought they would.

Futureshop had a sale about a week ago for the Portapros, $39.99 I think. Do a search on this site, I posted it, but can't remember where.

thanks for the suggestions, anyone have any other good ones? currently i am using sony mdr-v600's and i ave heard that they are horrendous, can i expect better sound than them at this price range?

probably, PX-xxx is the best around there man. but why chuck yur v600's? do you like them or are you gona chuck'em because people say they bad? people say my 212's are bloaty and muddy in bass but i love it

yeah the v600's actually sound pretty good to me. the thing is, i have virtually no experience with headphones at all so i dont really have anything to compare them too. i just figured since everyone seems to think they stink that a set of sennheiser 201's or the like would just blow me away.

have you tried either the v600's or the 201's? if so, how would you compare them to your 212's?

ive never tried them but the 212 pros have more bass than those cans will ever have. but SQ wise im not sure. 201's are supposed to be really good for the price.


why not try amping? if you still think they suck then sell them and then buy somethign else.
