I don't know 'bout the EX81 as I have never listened to them. hopefully somebody else here can!
but I own both PX100 und MD33, and their sound signature doesn't differ that much IMO.
so if you are looking for a pair of canalphones that can - at least nearly - come up with similar sound as the PX100, the MD33 will serve you well.
if you try to upgrade from your PX100, look elsewhere.
