Surprising realization
I am back home from college and do not have to deal with roomates and sound restrictions for a few weeks. as soon as i got home i went and cranked up my Genesis Physics 110's and came to a startling realization. these sound great!!! it was a familiar song but i have never had such a reaction to...- cin__server

Headphone Help - Under 100 Dollars
save yourself some trouble and take texashorn91's advice and get an old reciever. popular belief is that they all sound better than the new stuff anyway. decent models can be had for ~$50. search auction sites for "vintage reciever" they will be old huge and wood veneered but they will sound great.- cin__server

How are these?
the DT770s are more comfortable??? wow the only beyers ive tried were the DT860 and they hurt. My Audio Techicas are very comfy. and they excel at everything ive given them. although they probably wont ever sound as good as they did that day i listened to them through Mcintosh gear.- cin__server

Returned MS-1's, now back at square one again!
cant say on the AD700 but on my A700s (the AD are open the A is closed) the bass can get quite loud. they shake on my head. and they are not as bright as the MS-1s i owned them previously before the audio technicas. the AT A700s are some of the most comfy headphones on the market. only down side...- cin__server

Okay i think that canal phones would be ok, but ear buds would be preferable. price point is $40 firm. sound preference is bass heavy. these are going to a non audiophile who is really rough on his gear. he will wear them biking and skiing and everything-ing. really looking for impressions on...- cin__server

Sixteen year old girl wants first good pair of headphones
i have two things to say. the first +1 for the Denon D1000s they were suprisingly small (i have AT A700) and they sounded very similar( which is a good thing) and they blocked the movie that was playing behind me as well as any headphone ive ever heard. the second. this has to be the...- cin__server

My budget is 180, are MS-1's still the best?
to me the MS-1s sound like a great 2.1 setup with the subwoofer turned off. while amplification does make a difference in the positive direction, the OP said "for my ipod". they will be fine for what ever music you listen to. it wont "raise the roof" for rap but it does have bass, i was a...- cin__server
