I was browsing the following two threads showing very interesting headphone stand designs - and it made me wonder, how do headfiers store their headphones between listenings?

On a Stax stand, or in the flight case.

Plastic bags for the expensive stuff. Honestly, this may not be picturesque but it works better than any stand I've come across. It doesn't deform the pads and keeps the dust out. As long as you don't handle them like a heffalump and take care to avoid scratching/damaging them in any way, they should last for ages and ages.

Things that come with nice cases tend to stay in them when they're not being used.

The cheap stuff is scattered all over the place and is part of the general mess and confusion. It's cheap. I don't care.

Did you make that?

It looks great.

It's a Chinese knockoff of this bought here.

I've put it together, not a simple task considering the not-so-great build quality, but in overall its an affordable, nice and steady rack.

When the collection grows, something like this might be best.

Well protected in an air-tight and dust free box, waiting to called for duty.

This method of storage will also prevent headband/elastic stretching and foam deformation as well, as pointed out earlier.
