Grado Fan Club!
This is perhaps the first time in years that I'm back to Head-fi. Just feel the need to REALLY say this: do NOT use your Grado wireless without aptX (or AAC for that mattter). With the default codec - on Windows for example, the quality is just horrible.- WilliamLeonhart

No the whole Bluetooth dac seems to be inside the left can. I could only try to turn it off and on... Perhaps I must open it up to check what went wrong. Very disappointed because I haven’t use these much. This doesn’t inspire my confidence in Grado’s upcoming true wireless Either, probably...- WilliamLeonhart

My gw100’s left side just stopped working when on Bluetooth. It’s just fine when on wired. Anyone has the same problem? I don’t know what to do now- WilliamLeonhart

Radsone EarStudio ES100
The answer is quite simple, really, nothing except for standard Bluetooth from iOS devices. In short it works as it should, but the only thing I really need my ES100 for is Spotify- WilliamLeonhart

Radsone EarStudio ES100
SQ yes, the AirPods is a joke. But in terms of ease-of-use, I'd take the AirPods any day over my Mojo + custom IEMs. After all, when I'm at work, even for earbuds, the focus isn't on the music. That's why "Bluetooth DACs" like the ES100 are the greatest thing right now. I still like the Mojo's...- WilliamLeonhart

My journey into the Vietnamese earphone scene
A lot... When I wrote this you could say there were no "proper" product from Vietnamese makers. Then we've had the AYA YK-S, Notes Audio AT10, AYA Silver, Itsfit R3, Itsfit Fusion and a few from Soranik. I've reviewed a few of them. Been wanting to do "chapter II" for this but haven't got the...- WilliamLeonhart

Burson Audio Fun (2w pc Class A Headphone Amp)
I think it's pretty obvious that the noise comes from your PSU and you'll need to update it. But honestly I don't recommend putting any of the Burson desktop line (Play, Fun) into a PC case, unless you have good airflow. They tend to run warm- WilliamLeonhart

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
Like aisalen mentioned, depends on your choice of amp. I’ve seen few portable ones that can drive the HD600 properly/to my liking. No DAP has been able to do that either. The cheapeast amp that can drive the HD600 in my book is the Burson Fun. The HD58x goes with anything, including laptops and...- WilliamLeonhart

Radsone EarStudio ES100
It’s possible, yes. I’ve seen a few devices that are actually keyboard/mouse usb hubs that connects to the computer through Bluetooth. But those are expensive and not too practical - you’d hate the latency, I suppose. Edit: and no the ES100 doesn’t support this.- WilliamLeonhart

Review by 'WilliamLeonhart' on item 'Satin Audio Monster Series (Griffin / Chimera / Kraken / Medusa)'
I love the HD6 series from Sennheiser. I love them so much that I now have 3 pair of them (HD6xx, HD58x, HD600) as well as their predecessor, the HD540. Among the 3 amps I have, 2 are dedicated to the Senns – a tube amp and a solid state one. With 2 good DACs (iFi iDAC2 and Modi Multibit), my...- WilliamLeonhart

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
At that price it's much less attractive IMHO. Sound-wise the XD05 wasn't the best, it just beats everything else in terms of functionalities at the pricepoint. But with $235 you can start to look at more "proper", more powerful DAC/amp. Bluetooth DAC/amp is often $100 a piece.- WilliamLeonhart

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I have not tried most of the devices you mentioned but the ES100 does share some similarity with the DragonFly Black. Both have very "accessible" sound as opposed to the neutral soundsig typically found on "reference wannabe" devices. The background could be cleaner though.- WilliamLeonhart

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
Spot on. I tried to used the R70x go get my friend into the game. “Ok so these are studio headphones with much higher impedance than crap gaming ones so you need dedicated amp”, I told him. He plugged it into his Macbook. It got loud.- WilliamLeonhart

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
Even at its USED price the HD630 was a major disappointment. The closest thing that ever came close to being a closed back HD6 to me was the Master Dynamics MH40. Even then, it was not that close- WilliamLeonhart

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
I think a few tears back AT released a couple of “gaming” headphones. People believed that they were just the AD700x with mic (and an increased price). As far as gaming headphones go, unfortunately they all sound pretty crap to me. They can’t even win in comfort, my AD1000 was the best, my...- WilliamLeonhart

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread
Totally agree. In fact I'd say anyone would be totally justified to own both the HD598 and the M50X and the MSR7. The HD598 is way too "polite" sounding, but that makes it a good choice for extended listening session. I live in a tropical country so I'd have to take off the MSR7 sometimes to...- WilliamLeonhart

I'm currently back in Singapore, the place where I got to listen ALL the Grados available at the time. That was when the e-series got released. Now Grado have like 5 or 6 new models and I haven't been able to try any of them... Time flies- WilliamLeonhart

Personally I have never really cared about the Professional and the Statement series... They are too different from the "house sound" that I find on the Reference and the Prestige series. I'm sure a lot of members in this thread would still love them, though. Also, the only "expensive" cans...- WilliamLeonhart
