The Rudistor RP010 Has Arrived! (Pics!)

Sorry but this is marketing CRAP. There is nothing special about a motorized pot, especially one that uses a commercially off the shelf ALPS pot. Majority of remote controlled Chinese Integrated Amps have them. The Melos Photentiometer is a unique design though, as far as I know nobody else...

Bose Triport IE's - impressions from users

Upon reading how comfortable they are on your ear considering they are buds, I gave them a try. When people say they have rolled off treble and sound muddy, those are kind words. It is the MUDDIEST sounding headphone I have ever heard. The treble and most of the midrange isn't just "rolled" off...

New Omega Seamaster GMT on the way !

very nice! I got an old school (70's) Seamaster 1010. My dad gave it to me. about the so-called tier 1 watches, I think it's mostly hype, especially the price. http://www.thewatchquote.com/List-Pr...tch-No_977.htm if the skymoon blah blah was made in china they would be assembling at...

Dared MP-5 Headphone & Integrated Amp with USB DAC

...20's have 6.5" woofer and goes to 50hz. In a smallish room with proper corner placement you get very satisfying bass. You can find them used for $275-400. Used ones come up periodically on both ebay and audiogon. To my ears it kicks the ***** out of B&W bookshelf speakers selling for similar...

Anyone going to Rocky Mountain Audio Fest?

I have been there the last 3 years. Highly recommended!!! Compared to the New York, or Winter CES in Vegas this show is much, much less crowded so you have a better chance at seating at the "sweet spot" in any given room. You'll get to hear so many systems your ears will be overloaded!! You...

    MF Xcan v3 or PPX3-6SN7 for K701s?

I guess I am one of the few people that has heard singlepower and bada ph12. I heard the topline single power amps at the rocky mountain audio fest 2 years in a row. ( I believe it was a maestro driving rs-1, and supra driving recabled hd650.) I did not feel "wow" with the $$$$ rig. I didn't...

    Grado SR 325i VS. Sony SA5000 ?

In my opinion Metal is the absolute worst music genre for sa5000. most metal albums i have heard (80's) sound thin, totally lacking warmth and midbass punch with the sa5k's, they are literally unlistenable.

AKG K701 after 1000 Hours - Final Review

Excellent review! I kept a k701 for a week and I initially thought I liked the sound. But the more I listen to it the more I find there is something 'missing' about the sound. I can't really describe the 'missing' elements but you certainly did. I agree that it sort of takes away the emotion...

Bada PH12 vis-a-vis Meixing MC66AE and Lehmann BC

I am going to chime in here for a change. For those of you that keeps talking S**t about Bada when you have never heard it please stop! We all have different ears and hear differently. I have almost exactly the same setup as drarthurwells. Sa5k is my favourite headphone of all the...

    HF-1 #278 stolen!

Under some unusual circumstances I have discovered that my HF-1 serial number 278 is missing from my house. The only strangers I have had in my house were 2 painters I hired to do the interior painting. They were in the house for 2 days. They seems like decent guys and I have no proof that they...

What's the difference between 3d positioniong and sounstage?=)

imagine a live jazz band playing at a jazz club venue. the piano is at the front left of the stage. the bass is at the rear right, the drum at the middle left, the singer at the front right. you are 2 ft below the stage sitting just 8 ft away. if a headphone can portray 3d positioning...

M3 - Second Biggest Disappointment Ever

Azure, Fellow sa5k lover here. It is ruthlessly revealing like soneone else said. I have 3 main amps I use with it. Headroom little (solid state), Bada PH12 (hybrid) , Jasmine t200 (tube). I use a very decent source (Esound cd-e5). There are night and day differences when the sa5k is driven...

Stereophile reviews the REGA Apollo CD Player

I wouldn't trust any magazine reviews especially Stereophile reviews! Pretty much all cd players measure really well. They are NOT the bottle neck of any performance measures. Speakers and tube amps designed by ears (some can still sound very good) are. you've got to stop listening to all...
