I had no problems finding the bass without any equalizers.

You call that bass?
Sounds more like a pidgeon flapping its wings!

I'm looking for the sledgehammer. Since the SA5000s weren't up to the task of 'sledgehammer' Imma get the GS1000s and hope for the best
Wish me luck

oh i have no problems with the bass but I am just very curious to find out how 'clean' the bass can be as described in this thread, since every eq i have listened to have muddy bass....

I don't even know how to judge whether it's muddy or not because it's so massive. Okay it seems pretty clean....

It's quite obvious that SA5000 is not for you. You should go for some serious basshead cans like DT770.

The SA5000 has one of the best bass I've ever heard: quick and clean as an electrostatic and powerful like a dynamic headphone. Why ruine it with a strong equalization?

Better find another can, if you want more bass... (imho)

Anyway, de gustibus...

WOW I have been listening to the ridiculous bass on my sa5k for ~20min now. You really ought try the settings and listen to it before you speculate on the sound. I was skepical of any bass EQ too. Thsi setting to my ears does not 'ruin' anything good about sa5k. The bass is still quick and clean as an electrostat and powerful like a dynamic, but now it is in MASSIVE quantities!!!!!

Well I love the rest of the SA5000s(The detail, the quickness and the addicting bright presentation)

I'd say they're for me
They're just not "it"
A contributer to my collection, but not my main cans

I hate muddy, bloated, crappy bass
Therefore, I would never suggest settings that are anything like that
I'm a bass connoisseur if you will
I sample the bass like a fine wine

Don't worry my ears are very fine tuned when it comes to bass
I'm very good at picking up distortion

Enjoy my bass settings, young one
And soon you shall be on the path to the Bass side

-20db...

That means that the bass is twice as loud as the mids / highs...

I will agree with others here that the SA5K, with that extreme an EQ probably isn't better for you...

...Maybe, as others have said, the DT770 with (slightly) negative EQ might be better suited?

I currently have a LaRocco Global Reference
I will be having a LaRocco Headcode in due time
Can't wait
