Would you know if there are any sources available for a clear click wheel and a clear face plate for the iPod classic 6th generation 80GB ?

You could get a used pair from the market for a great price if you are not very picky. There are just so many ways to wear/mod it that very few people are unable to get a decent seal. Also, what is your budget for an amp?

I have almost the same setup. Macbook>Alien DAC> Little Dot Mk II> HD580. The difference with a DAC is almost like night and day for me if that helps.

^^ Smartwraps only do well for earphone cables. Grado cables are too thick to be wrapped efficiently, you'll get maybe 3-4 rounds before you run out of space.

Do you require a mike for gaming purposes? If so i would go with the Sennheiser PC series. If not Grado SR60, or something from the buy/sell forums would be good.

Another vote for the BJC. Mini to RCA is not listed on their site but drop them an email, they will have what you need.

I would upgrade the source as it would benefit both your home and portable rig. Also you seem pretty set on getting an iMod. You could then sell your current ALO dock (you have two now right?), and use the cash for some used SR60. They would serve you well for your rock & pop music needs...
