K701 vs AT open cans
For comfort on the AD series. There isn't a lot of foam in the pads. So for some the drivers will sit almost on their ears. Like someone said above, just put more foam in it. Just so it doesn't touch your ears, cause someone else commented that if too far away, the sound changes a lot...- Ruckus

My Recent Sennheiser HD-555 Sucks big time .....
ROFL. This has to be the funniest titles for a thread I've read this entire time. But David I agree. I don't understand the hype for the HD555 or HD595 at all. I haven't listened to the HD650. Don't really want to either. I loved my first Denon headphone which is why I am really interested...- Ruckus

Audiophile/Consumer Headphones Influenced by Popular Music in Manufacturers Country?
I dunno about Sennheiser. But I was just speculating about the Beyers. I know the DT880 and 990 have different sound, but overall from all the reviews of various Beyerdynamic headphones, bass has been the focus. My speculation was because audiophile/consumer headphones are made to make the...- Ruckus

best gaming cans
Honestly. Almost every competitive gaming clan has a website. Then they have a community forum. They also list emails for each player. Just ask them for a simple clean answer, what do you think is the best headphone for gaming. And add, please don't say (Brand) headphone because you are...- Ruckus

info beyerdynamic dt770,dt990,darths bass
Hmmm, From Larry, if I was to do a mod from him. Would be the Grado Mods. RS-1, with his gold dragon recable and C-Cups. 6Moons review said. It doesn't seem to make sense to spend 300 USD minimum, if the stock headphone sounds awful to you. Not saying that it is awful. But why else...- Ruckus

Audiophile/Consumer Headphones Influenced by Popular Music in Manufacturers Country?
I was just thinking the reason why Beyerdynamics are bass heavy. Would seem if you are a bass head, the DT770 especially is always recommended. And also others complain that its too much bass.- Ruckus

Audiophile/Consumer Headphones Influenced by Popular Music in Manufacturers Country?
Do you think Beyerdynamic headphones are well known for bass because their home country is one the best countries to live in if you love drum and bass, house, club music, trance music, and Heavy Industrial Rock. I'm not Goth. But from just casual conversations, my understanding the current...- Ruckus

Are Head-Fiers anti social?
I think consideration for others is tricky now a days. Today, you see people constantly talking on their cell phones, even when they are spending time with another person. How many times have you gone to a cafe or even a restaurant, you see two people at a table. One person fidgets, looks...- Ruckus

The worst offenders for headphone hair?
Some guys have longer hair. And face it, just cause we're not girls doesn't mean we are not aware of our hair. Cause the girls certainly notice. The AT don't leave any headphone hair. With those wing thingys, the AT phones just float on your head.- Ruckus

Black Felt inside AD900
The pad just pull off. Its got this elastic band thing. The elastic is pretty stiff. So it just fits right back on, the edge of it is stiff. It slides right back inside the slot along the sides of the headphone- Ruckus

Darth Beyer or Denon AH-D2000
From reading 6moons. They have a point. Darth Beyers simply look amazing. But according to this reviewer. "The modded Beyers are okay. I don't see much value in them because the stock ones are simply atrocious." Even after all the work, recabling, wood, this reviewer prefers other...- Ruckus

Affordability
Be happy with what you have until you can afford. Currently happy with AD900. Saving for K701 and Amp. That's the I'm doing it, get something I can afford for now until I have saved for something better. And no I'm not going to reduce my diet to ramens or resort to credit. I'm sure...- Ruckus

do you think trance sounds better..

What's wrong with my HD555s?
Does getting rid of resample make a difference for you? Have it native, forget 4800 or 4100 make a difference? And noise from the computer itself will often effect sound. Not sure what its called, but for sure, all the electrical stuff in the computer. Also its not just the soundcard...- Ruckus

AKG K1000 successor: Give me details!
From reading the research behind the K701. Seems to me its like their initial test run with these new technologies. Next gen with the above R & D may be the one to surpass these 10-30 year old phones. But then how much has dynamic headphones have changed other than the materials used? So...- Ruckus

do you think trance sounds better..
ROFL. You're kidding me. Adding new stuff to guitars. Whatever. Even the new seven string guitar and people changing octaves and new techniques. Still not that different than the experimentation from the 70s. Your guitars are pretty still the same. Being able to use completely new concepts...- Ruckus
