If you have a Mac, podcasting is dead easy. Garageband makes it super simple. Get basically any decent headset/mic and you are in business. Audacity works ok for PC or Linux, but it is no where as smooth as GarageBand. Skype makes it easy to do phone interviews. I anxiously await your efforts.

I use it for tv shows and such. Nothing as long as a movie, but for short stuff it's great to kill time.

Certainly it is not the Head-Fi way to suggest thing under your budget, but you might also look at the A900's little siblings the A700 and A500. Also closed and comfortable, as well as cheaper.

I like the 201s fine but they are hard to drive. Not very sensitive. If I were going to deal with a long cable on my portable phone anyway, I'd go with the AKG K 81DJ. See the incredibly long thread on them now going on.
