Zishan Z4 - DAP with Dual DAC ES9038Q2M | Dual AMP OPA1622 | USB 32-bit + DSD | Bluetooth LDAC 24-bit | Balanced 2,5/4,4 | LO/PO 3,5mm

My Zishan Z4 arrive

Impressions:

+
Handle, design and housing quality
+ ASIO driver in USB DAC
+ all album cover inside file working
+ High sound quality in balanced mode
+ Fast boot up and Player <-> DAC USB <-> BT switching
+/- LCD worse that in DSDs. Most obscure screen ever seen! I'm kinda like that...
- control buttons - terrible. Only central is just ok 4 other is a pain (Soft buttons MOD)
- laggy user interface (Fixed in new Firmware)
- loud cracking especially when power down or change USB - BT - Player mode it is typical electronic switching but should be removed
- sensitive of electromagnetic interference like smartphone
- inverted channels L/R to R/L in Bluetooth mode (Fixed in new Firmware)

Sound:

I'm not gonna lie, 3,5mm PO (single ended) quite disappoint me, and reminds Zishan U1 - nothing spacial.
Balanced out is noticeably better than single ended from first moment.
Better separation, highs is smoother more extended, pleasing midrange, bass extension and more energy in sub-bass.
Space is also wider and deeper in 3D.
Volume is twice as power, but most important - there is better control on 250 Ohm full sized Beyerdynamic DT150.
This little beast can drive 600 ohm headphones, but working good with 32 Ohm IEMs as well.
Line-out is very clean and superb due to direct connection with DAC my amps was very pleased, better than DSDs.

I'm sure it's better than stock Zishan DSDs.
Stock DSDs is really nothing special and needs a little to sounds better and a lot of work to sound really good

Update soon
I think buttons can be modded. Just drill a hole and put the buttons from DSD into it.

Added Head-Fi product page and moved technical information and pics here.

Found issue about inverted 2,5 balanced channels L/R to R/L...
Polarity of balance single channel needs to be checked probably inverted as well :frowning2:
